Ruach HaKodesh “With Us”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

Yahweh is the one going before you; he will be with you, and he will not leave you alone, and he will not forsake you; you shall not be afraid, and you shall not be discouraged.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (emphasis added)

Yahweh is Three Persons in One. One as in a group of the same. “For there are three that testify, the Spirit and the water and the blood, and the three are in agreement” (1 John 5:7–8). The Modern English Version reads “There are three who testify in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and the three are one. There are three that testify on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are toward the one”. Elohim is Three and One. As such, Ruach HaKodesh will be with us, will not leave us alone, and will not forsake us so that we won’t choose to be afraid and we will also not choose to be discouraged. How could we with Almighty Elohim inside us at all times and in all places we go? It is a TREMENDOUS gift.

For all those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). The Greek word for led is agó (ag’-o). The Hebrew equivalent is halak (haw-lak’). In Greek, being led is the act of bringing someone or something from one place to another. The Hebrew is more of a walking with than a leading. It is used a LOT about physically going from one place to another. According to Strong’s, it’s also often employed metaphorically to describe one’s conduct or way of life, indicating a manner of living or behaving in accordance with Elohim’s commandments or moral principles. In both it is very much a TOGETHER thing. Of being taken by the hand and going from one location to another (spiritually or physically). It is not cold instructions sent to you, but a cooperative endeavour. If you are led, you are NOT alone.

This is HUGE. We’re called to have Adonai front and centre in our lives. In our going in and going out. In our walking around and sitting down. When going to bed and getting up. How can we do that if we’re on our own? We need someone to keep us from being distracted. Not that we won’t have our FOCUS on tasks or jobs, but everything we do should be MOTIVATED by Adonai. It’s a whole mindset that has little room for the world or sin — which is of course the ideal (Proverbs 4:14–15). But with everything out there, our mundane tasks, our relationships, and our must-be-kept-busy-ooo-look-at-the-shiny-thing minds, how CAN we? Because Ruach HaKodesh is not a mindless spirit floating around or sending spiritual current through us at Adonai’s whim. Ruach HaKodesh is our COMPANION. He’s there to help us navigate our lives, our world, and our Lord.

saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”” (Revelation 5:12). Jesus has received back the power, riches, wisdom, and strength Adam gave to the devil when Adam bent knee and obeyed. Jesus has also received honour and glory from His Father (2 Peter 1:17). So Jesus has/is power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, and glory. That’s a LOT for us to inhabit without getting our egos blown out of proportion. For us to get it in our minds that it in some way is US who are making a difference. Ruach HaKodesh helps to keep our SELVES in check. That still small voice works like a pin to prick the bubble of our ego and remind us of who it is who does the work: Jesus (Ephesians 2:8–9).

It is also a lot to get lost in. When there is a lot to do and have and deal with, that’s a wide landscape. Lots of trees. Well, with that many trees it is easy to get lost. Ask the MANY people who have gone for a short walk and not come out for days or weeks — and only then with the help of Search & Rescue teams. Better than Search & Rescue, Ruach HaKodesh is a Spiritual Positioning System (SPS). With this system up and running — which the Father does — and our receivers functioning as they’re meant to — the Word taken with intent does that — we always know where we are and what direction we’re going. The destination doesn’t matter when we’re hand in hand with Him. He is with us and before us and behind us in a wonderful way. The Israelites learned this in the desert. A pillar of fire by night and a pillar of smoke by day. Neither of which EVER departed from them (Exodus 13:21–22). When it stopped, they stopped. When it moved, they moved. It’s a beautiful picture of how we’re led BUT we ALSO get hand in hand treatment.

We are where He LIVES (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). He isn’t going anywhere. We’re not going without Him and He’s not going without Him. We’re a team. A companionship. Intimately joined. Able to be in constant communication. Talk about a good deal. It’s something EVERYONE should be DESPERATE to have. It’s something everyone was meant to have.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Exodus 34:6–7

And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, “Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness, keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations.”” We don’t always see this from the proper perspective — His point of view — but it is a deeply true statement. Adonai decided to love us before He created us. He’s kept to that. We don’t always feel that way, but no child feels loved when they’re being corrected. Mercy and Grace — the goodness of Elohim — have informed EVERY aspect of His dealings with humanity. Mercy keeps us from getting the judgment we deserve. Grace gives us all the goodness of Elohim that we don’t deserve. That we CAN’T deserve or EARN. If you really get to thinking about Adonai’s Righteousness and our unrighteousness, you can see how He is ALWAYS merciful and ALWAYS full of grace toward us. He is faithful to keep to His love of us. To remember it. To be motivated by it. And to act because of it. Elohim is a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
