But when he—the Spirit of truth—comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will proclaim to you the things to come.
John 16:33
According to themuse.com, one of the seven types of leaders is the Truth Teller: ‘The Truth Teller embraces candor, even when it makes people uncomfortable. They speak with openness and honesty, driven by a sincere desire to be of service. For Truth Tellers, speaking up is a duty.’ Interesting job description. It isn’t alone. The definition of a truth teller is someone who tells the truth, especially about what is really happening in a situation. They’re also called straight arrows or square shooters. Of course, human personalities can also take this too far and end up brutally honest or emotionally turbulent. But true truth tellers always speak from love, seeking to leave falsehoods behind and step forward in total honesty for the blessing, benefit, and encouragement of everyone in the situation. Ruach HaKodesh is a truth teller of the first order.
“the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see him or know him. You know him, because he resides with you and will be in you” (John 14:17). The Greek leans into truth, but not merely truth as spoken. It is truth as the truth of idea, reality, in sincerity. It is truth in a moral sphere. A divine truth revealed to man and bodied in Jesus, the ultimate revelation of Elohim’s truth. It is a character value of straightforwardness. The idea of truth was less abstract then. It was associated with reality and the true nature of existence. Taken together, these word choices are saying that Ruach HaKodesh is THE spirit of THE Truth. Singular. THE foundational; incorruptible; standard for all everywhere; objective beyond all reason, logic, and arguments; absolute truth. No matter what anyone else can manage, or believe, or decide, or anything. It’s the end of arguments. There IS an objective truth. Ruach HaKodesh speaks ONLY this truth.
On the one hand that’s pretty comforting. He isn’t going to lie to you. What He says is going to be reliable. He isn’t going to say one thing and do another. Trustworthy. Decent. Reliable. These are all great things and often missing in human to human relationships. On the other hand, it’s going to be the truth. Objective truth. We can’t argue it away. There will be no mitigating circumstances. We can’t deny it. We can’t cover it up. We will have to face it straight on, and deal with whatever consequences come up. He’ll help us, steer us, guide us, instruct us, and be with us, but it will STILL be the absolute truth we will be handling. Nothing else is acceptable. Ruach HaKodesh has no ego and no falsehood. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change” (James 1:17). Ruach HaKodesh is eternally true.
“For those who are living according to the flesh are intent on the things of the flesh, but those who are living according to the Spirit are intent on the things of the Spirit. For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mindset of the flesh is enmity toward God, for it is not subjected to the law of God, for it is not able to do so, and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also make alive your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you” (Romans 8:5-11). Ruach HaKodesh does more than just show up. He does more than float around inside us taking up space. Remember that Elohim can’t fit inside a building. Ruach HaKodesh doesn’t need a parking spot. He is there because He is the mechanism by which all the life of Jesus flows through us. This is more than a little voice giving advice. This is huge. This is a nuclear power plant inside us. Providing us with life and peace and the fullness of the Righteousness of Messiah Jesus. Take a moment and think about that. About ALL of that. It’s there inside you. We have LIFE inside us because Ruach HaKodesh is there telling us the TRUTH of what we have going on within. When you start to see this, you’ll never be a name again. You’ll never be a body again. You’ll see that you are One Third Ruach HaKodesh, the Righteous of Messiah in Jesus of Nazareth, Saviour, Lord, and Almighty Elohim! This is the life we’re given at a cellular level. This is the life that breaks chains and sets us free from broken thinking and sour patterns of speech, thought, and deed.
Let the Truth Teller of all Truth Tellers speak into you. Let Him speak and hear the life reverberate inside of you. Hear it shattering lies. Hear the chains fall. Hear the splash of the roots dropping into the sea where they can grow no more. Hear the TRUTH and hear it set you free (John 8:31-32).
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 145:9
“Yahweh is good to all, and his mercies are over all his work” There can be no doubt that Elohim is good to all Creation. Jesus made this clear (Matthew 5:45). If He didn’t, the wicked would have nothing good, no moments of true pleasure, and no ability to love on any scale. It is clear that Elohim is MERCIFUL. But there is a special place in His heart for those who follow His Way in Messiah Jesus. “Yahweh will not cause a righteous person to go hungry, but the craving of the wicked he will thwart.” (Proverbs 10:3). In Jesus, we are blessed with all the spiritual food that we need to be sustained, well-fed, and vibrant. Abundant life (John 10:10) is the reward for those who submit in humble obedience from love for Him. He hears our prayers, not just our cries for salvation (1 Peter 3:12). He tenderly watches over us as we walk the Way in Jesus. He is so GOOD and MERCIFUL to us. Even in the face of our habit to wander – He really is so very patient with us.

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
