Daily Affirmation #7

I am able to do all things by the one who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). This is not after the fact. This verse is in the present tense. This is happening RIGHT NOW. It was happening NOW to Jesus, NOW to John, NOW to Paul, NOW to Timothy, NOW to Martin Luther, NOW to George Washington, NOW to Queen Elizabeth II, NOW to us, and NOW to your great, great grandchildren (should Jesus tarry). It is ALWAYS now. It never changes. It is always the present tense. That’s great news. We don’t have to go through trials and tribulations and THEN get strengthened. We don’t have to be in the middle of stress and struggle and need a top up to get through. We don’t need to make an appointment or wait sixty days. There is no hold on our account in Jesus. Ever. Jesus provides those who abide in Him (seek His face with their whole heart), a four million watt current of supernatural, sustaining, sanctified, power. It is only compatible with the Father’s Will (the Word). It can only be used on, in, and through the works that have been prepared for us (Ephesians 2:8). But it is there 24/7 365.25 days a year. Ready for use and keeping us renewed in strength while we walk His Way (Romans 8:11). A constantly sustaining source of strength. When we lose sight of that, we get it back with praise. Not only does Adonai inhabit our praises (Psalm 22:3), but our praise ignites our joy which unlocks the door through which His strength flows (Nehemiah 8:10). It is consistent in how it works. Virtually every time. It sidesteps our feelings and our situation and enables us to seize strength-giving joy in Jesus BY CHOICE anytime we want. Flick that switch and be strengthened in Him.
