Fear No Fear

Yahweh is merciful. He is THE source of ALL mercy. If the Lord wasn’t, we would ALL be toast (Exodus 32:7-14). When we turn aside from Him and His ways, we sadden Him. In the Old Testament, that sin (turning away) caused His anger to come upon us. But Jesus paid the price for sin. Sin does NOT stand between Yahweh and humanity unless WE let it. The Lord is extending us mercy as He extends His loving kindness (Psalm 136). The mercy of the Lord became flesh is Jesus, the Messiah. It could embody NO OTHER PERSON. Jesus was IT. Fully man, fully God, sinless, perfect, keeping EVERY commandment of Torah (the Law). Who else could do this? But He CHOSE to die for us. “We have come to know love by this: that Jesus laid down his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians (1 John 3:16). No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. This commandment I received from my Father” (John 10:10).

What is it Peter said? “He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth. When he was maligned, he did not answer back; when he suffered, he threatened no retaliation, but committed himself to God who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed” (1 Peter 2:22-24). Jesus did NOT deserve it, but He took it on with JOY for the result it would bring (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus WAS our sacrificial lamb. He who took it ALL on Himself FOR OUR SAKE. Bringing peace to humanity from the Throne of the Father. He did that in and through Jesus (Ephesians 2:4-9).

The truth is that the Father’s position toward sin has NEVER changed. But because of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection, The Lord can show us mercy. Even when Yahweh judges, He shows mercy. “And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short” (Matthew 24:22). The Lord wants EVERYONE to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; Ezekiel 33:11). He does not want ANYONE to have on themselves the penalty for either the nature they were born with OR their actions. But He doesn’t wish it away. He is JUST. Payment MUST be made. Jesus made it, but we have to ACCEPT it on HIS terms for it to be effective.

In the EXACT SAME WAY the Father wants us ALL to be healthy in ALL WAYS. “Praise the Lord, O my soul. Do not forget all his kind deeds. He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, who delivers your life from the Pit, who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion, who satisfies your life with good things, so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s. The Lord does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed” (Psalm 103:2-6). ALL our sin and ALL our diseases. They’re paired because it was by the same mechanism that they were dealt with – the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus took ALL of that on Himself on the cross. It was SO BAD that He didn’t even look HUMAN (Isaiah 52:14). Then He was resurrected by the Spirit of LIFE and the Will of the Father. That WILL hasn’t changed. “Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:4). With all that we see in the scriptures about the nature of Yahweh God, why would ANYONE assume that a NEW LIFE given by Him would contain sickness or disease of ANY kind? That is the kind of thing that ATTACKS life, not that MAKES UP life. Certainly not Abundant Life (John 10:10).

Is there a reason that not everyone gets healed? There must be, but why start from a negative? Why start with ‘something might keep this from happening right away’? Why not start with TRUTH: Yahweh is the GOD WHO HEALS. “He said, “If you will diligently obey the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, then all the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians I will not bring on you, for I, the Lord, am your healer”” (Exodus 15:26).

Car accidents seem to occur somewhere on the road every day, but I don’t stop driving. Why would we want to deal with the BLESSING any differently? Look at what God WANTS and what God says is POSSIBLE and work from THAT in the way that HE shows you. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Are you frail? Are your bones shaking? Do you not feel ALL that you can be? It’s okay. YAHWEH HEALS. Go to Him and see what He says about it. The Word isn’t kept from you. The Word is a revelation to you! Look through it. Seek HIM on every page. There is a LOT there and NONE of it has Yahweh cursing His Children to teach them a lesson. It is FULL of Yahweh BLESSING His Children and offering freely, healing to those who seek Him in humble submission and obedience.

The key to obedience is loving Him. The more we love, the more we seek to obey. The more we understand the love of the Father and the love of Jesus toward us, the more we love back. The Word is a revelation of their love toward us so that we can love back (1 John 4:19). When we love, we find ourselves obeying (John 14:15). It’s as natural as breathing.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Genesis 14:18

“Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.)” The Lord’s Supper – communion – is a bridge between us and the Lord God Almighty. It is the symbol of us getting right with God. Abraham had a LOT of negative personality traits that did not make a re-appearance after he took communion with Melchizedek. Instead, Abraham declared that Yahweh was his complete and total source of all things (Genesis 14:22-24). The purpose of communion is to ensure that we walk from our side of things to the Lord’s – in righteousness, submitted to Christ Jesus (John 6:58). Every time we take it, we look to Jesus’ role as MESSIAH and the fulfilment of scripture prophecy IN HIM (1 Corinthians 11:26). Communion can be the contact point we use to place things FIRMLY under Jesus’ feet and walk in victory over that area of our life. Leaving it under the cross and appropriating what Jesus has ALREADY done for us. It brings His Blood Power into active functionality in our lives. That can only happen because Jesus IS Messiah.
