Ruach HaKodesh “USB 10.0”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name—that one will teach you all things, and will remind you of everything that I said to you.

John 14:26 (emphasis mine)

Stress can affect how we form and retrieve memory. There can be mental impairment for people with infections from colds and sickness. There are three major dementias that attack memory. It is believed that attention disorders, some medications, lack of sleep, anxiety and depression, and even vitamin deficiencies can all affect memories. It’s a miracle that any of us in modern society are capable of remembering anything at all! The whole world is trying to get everyone to accept one of these things in their life. In fact, most people believe they are normal and inevitable. We can truly thank Adonai that because of Jesus and with Ruach HaKodesh around this is NOT the case for the believer.

Ruach HaKodesh essentially functions as the ultimate memory stick. A USB that is better than all USBs out there. Ruach HaKodesh has ALL of EVERYTHING Jesus has EVER said inside Him. Which means ALL of EVERYTHING the Father has EVER said, because Jesus ONLY said what the Father said – and Jesus IS the Word. At any time we can ask for a word of knowledge and Ruach HaKodesh will bring to our mind anything that we need that Jesus has said. Well, as long as it was said to us. Which means we need the word IN US for the word to come to our minds. But if we ask believing, it WILL happen. That’s incredible! As long as we have been faithful in our side of it (reading the Word and dwelling on it), then He will bring forward with perfect recollection the piece or passage of the Word that we need in any and every situation – as long as we’re listening expecting to hear. I am no expert in this, but I can attest that it works. And the more it works, the more I expect to hear when I listen, and the more I do hear. The Word is faithful. It works.

Guess what? It works for everything. Not the promise of remembering part. But Ruach HaKodesh speaking the truth to you about things when you are expectant about hearing them. He’s with you all the time (Acts 2:17). He is in fellowship with you if you want to be in fellowship with Him (2 Corinthians 13:14). His presence in you is the vehicle the Father uses to consistently and constantly give life to your whole being – body, soul, spirit (Romans 8:11). If we have all of that, why do we assume He is ignoring what we do? I’m talking about more than simply His healing presence renewing your synapses and strangling dementias, diseases, sicknesses, and infirmity – although that is 100% possible. I’m talking about TALKING. Instead of wondering why you entered a room (to use a stereotype), ask Him. Instead of spending hours tearing the far corners of your home apart, ask Him where the item is. Ask for a word of knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:8). It’s not a waste or an inappropriate use of a gift. It’s interacting with Him and asking for knowledge. I can’t count the number of times He’s shown me where something is and how many times I’ve thanked Him for it. I have also missed it and heard nothing because I’m too consumed with the looking.

Ruach HaKodesh is a conversationalist. We CAN talk to Him like He’s sitting there across the living room with us. It’s something we really need to get through our heads. Yahweh wants to interact with us. To talk with us. To converse with us. Two-sided dialogue. Not just tell us things. But to guide us up the hill until we’re close enough to spend time together. Children are great talkers when they’re little. But there is that point that happens where they start conversing, instead of talking. He wants to guide US to that point. He cares about the minute as well as the big issues. Dealing with the big issues helps make the minute mean more because the little things get cleaner and better. We’re not wasting His time with the details and ebb and flow of our lives. We’re SHARING our lives. And that should always be our goal. To keep going until we’re sharing EVERYTHING with Adonai and listening as He shares EVERYTHING with us.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Nahum 1:7

Yahweh is good—a refuge in the day of distress; he knows those who take refuge in him.” A refuge is so very welcome when there is trouble. Didn’t you have one as a child? That ‘secret’ spot you were so sure that no one else knew about? Behind furniture, off in the woods, some quiet corner somewhere. It was the place you went to in order to have peace. Throughout human history we have made refuges. And we have welcomed people themselves, labelling them as refugees – those seeking refuge, but who have none. Yahweh is calling us to be refugees no more. To walk behind His walls. Where you are safe. Where you are secure. Where you are under His wings. Will there be storms? Yes, but they’ll not touch you. They may rage around you, but you’ll be safe behind walls that don’t bend. That don’t fall. That don’t fail. He doesn’t take us out of the world, He comes into the world to hold us close. He IS our ‘secret place’. And you’ll NEVER be afraid again.

Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.

Psalm 34:8
