Fear No Fear

“Yet I will rejoice in Yahweh; I will exult in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:18, LEB). It’s not wrong to enjoy God! It’s not wrong to enjoy things that aren’t ‘about’ God. But me? I want to enjoy everything WITH God. If God isn’t going to get enjoyment out of it, neither am I. Did you know God likes sports? Cars? Movies? TV shows? Books? Crafts? Knitting? Baking? Gaming? You name it, and it’s good, God will enjoy it. Now, He might not like all the content. As I have gotten to know Him better, it’s changed what I give my eyes to. It’s changed what I feel comfortable around. That is NOT a bad thing. That is a VERY good thing. Because what my eyes SEE is what my mind pays attention to. No bad in the eyes, no bad in the mind – which means I will be harder to tempt (working on it, haven’t arrived yet). Good things that I don’t let interfere with my walk with God, He is there for. When God wants to talk about His things, I’m striving to be there for it. Two-way street. Big thing though is if I can’t do it WITH God, I won’t do it WITHOUT Him. I want Him to enjoy what I do. I want Him to approve of it. Because I love Him. No other reason. No judgement on anyone else. We’re all of us on a journey. But take that journey WITH God and bring Him into everything you do. In the end? You life will be filled with truly GOOD things and God will be right there in all of them.
