Daily Affirmation #19

Human being, you have already been told what is good, what Adonai demands of you — no more than to act justly, love grace and walk in purity with your God” (Micah 6:8, CJB). To love Grace is to love the kindness of Adonai. To love God. Loving Grace isn’t loving a get-out-of-jail-free card. To love Grace is to love that it was extended to you. To love that our merciful God chose to extend it to us, even though we’ve done nothing to deserve it. To love Grace is to cherish it. We can’t earn it. We CAN hold it precious. To keep from stepping on its toes. To acknowledge the price that was paid and to walk in grateful love that it was. To spread the news so that others can partake of the goodness too. Never to abuse it. Always to remember it is His Grace that enables us to even be on The Way in the first place. When we love Grace, we’re harder to tempt. When we love Grace, we’re eager to get close to the One who loved us this much. It isn’t a hard demand. It isn’t a difficult thing. It is simply responding in love to His love and choosing to keep it in its proper place. To keep it as the ever-present reminder that it is, of the sacrificial love of Jesus to us, His beloved children.
