Daily Affirmation #21

Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We will not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; and You, O Rock, have established them for correction” (Habakkuk 1:12, MEV). Habakkuk complained about the wicked people in the Land. Demanded to know why God wasn’t doing anything. God said, no worries because I have the Babylonians coming. At this point Habakkuk started begging for mercy because the Babs had a REALLY bad reputation for cruelty, total destruction, and general mow-em-down-ishness. Sometimes when we start demanding justice from God, we get a glimpse of what it really is. Every time we do, we start begging for mercy. What is the point of telling everyone God is going to judge the country? What is the point of begging God to judge the country? I’ve seen both actions a LOT. We are in the Age of Grace. The thing to do now is tell everyone they can have peace with God. The thing to seek the Lord for is a message on how WE can get that message out and thanking God for His continued Mercies on us ALL. None of us are getting what we deserve. We aren’t sinners, but we WERE until He saved us. Why hoard that? Why wait until there is judgment arriving? Why not share the message of His Grace and Mercy? Instead of trying to scare them out of Hell, why not try loving them into Heaven? Are they unrighteous? Yes. Is their sin of not believing in Jesus going to get them into Hell? Yes. But why not focus on the flip side? Love, belief, and acceptance of His Lordship will get them into Heaven! It isn’t excusing sin or sweeping it under the rug. It’s dealing with them from the point of view of love, acceptance, and renewal in repentance. We can help change lives, He can set people free, and we can see a total altering of people into how Jesus sees them! What a great God we serve. Let’s share our knowledge of Him.
