And I will dwell in the midst of the Israelites, and I will be their God.
Exodus 29:45
Ruach HaKodesh is looking for a place to dwell. It’s as simple as that. It isn’t a secret. It is clear that right from the beginning Elohim desired communion with humanity. He didn’t seek it from any of His other creations. Just us. He made fish, birds, livestock, crawling things and after each one He said it was good. But after He made us, we find Him walking with us. Whether it is literal or whether it is symbolic of a specific time of communication spirit to spirit or audibly, it is clear that His relationship with us was UNIQUE. Even the angels didn’t understand it (Psalm 8:4), but they are STILL curious about it (1 Peter 1:12).
Adonai wants to walk with us in the windy time of day and listen to us as we listen to Him. Communication. Checking in. Talking to one another. Dwelling together. We don’t spend every moment of every day with our partners, but we like that daily check in. That connection. “Yahweh your God is in your midst; a mighty warrior who saves. He shall rejoice over you with joy; he renews you in his love; he will exult over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17). He desires a place to be with us. But He isn’t looking for a building or a shrine or a ‘place’. He IS God and cannot be contained by us (Acts 17:24). We don’t live our lives and go visit Him from time to time. Neither do we stand around begging snd entreating Him to lut his attention on us. He WANTS to be WITH us. Around and beside. Part of our daily lives. He says it again and again in the Old Covenant and desires it just as much in the New Covenant. Adonai wants to be with humanity in a way that nothing else in Creation can be.
It’s Adonai’s nature to dwell. He inhabits heaven (Deuteronomy 26:15). He inhabits the praise of those who truthfully worship Him (Psalm 22:3). He dwells in a heavenly temple (Psalm 27:4). The Earth itself is His footstool (Isaiah 66:1). He dwells. He seeks a place to dwell and connect with us. But what WE make won’t do. He’s looking to inhabit something He made. Only the work if HIS hands is worthy for Him to dwell in. What we make is plainly substandard – not a surprise as we are NOT on the same skill level (Isaiah 55:8-9). His dwelling needs to be Righteous. His dwelling needs to be uncorrupted. His dwelling needs to not be wicked (or twisted). He is Holy and His dwelling needs to be Holy. So we can see it CANNOT be a place WE made. The only material we have available to us is fallen (Romans 8:20).
Ruach HaKodesh is looking to inhabit. He is looking for a Holy place and a Righteous place. He is looking for communion. He is looking for cooperative companionship. Look around the world with unbiased eyes and you can see that it is hopeless. But Jesus saw that too. He saw it with the Father and with Ruach HaKodesh before Creation. They made a plan. Jesus made a Way. There IS a place that Ruach HaKodesh can dwell. Because of Jesus and what He finished. Because of HIM, Ruach HaKodesh can dwell in US. “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16). That is GOOD NEWS. He made us and in Jesus we become Righteous. Ruach HaKodesh has found the perfect dwelling He’s been seeking.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 27:13
“Surely I believe that I will see the goodness of Yahweh
in the land of the living.” We do NOT need to wait for Heaven to see Elohim’s goodness. There is 100% a perfection and fullness that we cannot inhabit until we get there (1 John 3:2; 1 Corinthians 13:12). But we don’t have to wait to get to see and inhabit some of the Goodness of Him. It isn’t all pie in the sky. The Kingdom of Heaven is NEAR, not far. It is in us through Jesus and Ruach HaKodesh dwelling in us. We have available to us the Fruit of His Spirit. We have been blessed with ALL blessing. We have been empowered with His authority. We have been given a mandate to spread the Kingdom to the hearts of ALL humanity by proclaiming His Good News – the Word of Faith which is the salvation possible in and through Jesus. We get to have relationship with Him NOW. We get to enjoy the Blessing of Adonai NOW. We get to be renewed and recreated NOW. We get have all of that NOW in THIS Earth. Elohim is so GOOD to us.
Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:
I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
Psalm 34:8
