Daily Affirmation #26

On the day of the Lord’s sacrifice, I will punish the officials and the king’s sons, and all who clothe themselves with foreign attire” (Zephaniah 1:8, MEV). All believers are Children of God, Jew first and then Gentiles (John 1:12 -13; Galatians 3:26). That makes us the King’s sons (Revelation 19:6). That means, God cares about how we dress. Now I’m not talking about religious rules about hemlines and styles of suits or pants versus skirts. I am talking about dressing in harmony with God’s point of view. God is THE objective perspective on EVERYTHING. When He handed down the Law, it included a dress code. It wasn’t about appearance or what was or wasn’t showing. It was about remembrance. They were rules to make sure there were specific things to remind them of the Lord. To help keep their minds stayed on the Lord. So when we dress, what is it we are putting our minds on? Maybe we don’t wear that top because what we think about when we wear it doesn’t help us to remember Him. Maybe an accessory is skipped or put on. Maybe modest, but flattering and fun, doesn’t mean what we think. Maybe it simply takes a shift in thinking. The point is, God cares about EVERY aspect of our lives and IN every aspect of our lives we should be thinking about HIS point of view.
