Fear No Fear

Jesus called his 12 disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.

Yeshua (Jesus) called to His disciples. First the twelve (as in today’s verse). Then the seventy (Luke 10:1-22). And then everyone who would follow Him (Mark 16:15-18). Jesus said that the sign of healing would follow those who believe in Him as further signs to the world that Yahweh is real, Yahweh saves, and here is the evidence of it. The early church corroborated this in Acts 4:29-30. James corroborated it in James 5:15. Paul walked it out with Barnabas in Acts 14:3. Stephen walked it out in Acts 6:8. They were able to heal because of belief in what Jesus said they could do and faith that the Father would provide. “Does God then give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law or by your believing what you heard?” (Galatians 3:5).

We can’t ‘works’ our way into this. It is not YOUR holiness or actions that do the work. It is the simplest of things: Jesus does the work. Jesus heals. He always has and He always will. Sickness and disease of EVERY kind in EVERY form is of the curse. Jesus came and died to RID us of the curse. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)” (Galatians 3:13). “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed. For you were going astray like sheep but now you have turned back to the shepherd and guardian of your souls” (1 Peter 2:24-25).

If we are free from sin, if we are free from the curse, if we have been SPIRITUALLY cleansed and are once again in the paddock of the Lord under the careful watch of the Good Shepherd, then we have NOTHING TO FEAR. We MUST have health. It is the atmosphere and territory of Adonai. There is NOTHING of the curse, NOTHING of sin, and NOTHING fallen in the Lord. Therefore, health is the RIGHT of the Children of the Father. But can we SPREAD that health through healing?

We KNOW Jesus healed ALL who came to Him. “When it was evening, many demon-possessed people were brought to him. He drove out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick” (Matthew 8:16). We KNOW Jesus used HIS faith to compliment those who BELIEVED that He could heal. “But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof! Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed” (Matthew 8:8). Sometimes, it was their belief in His ability to heal and faith that He would that enabled them to receive healing – WITHOUT JESUS’ PARTICIPATION. “When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, for she kept saying, “If only I touch his clothes, I will be healed.” At once the bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease” (Mark 5:27-29).

Yeah, you might say. But that’s JESUS. What about US? “The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked” (1 John 2:6). ““Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and do so correctly, for that is what I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you too ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example—you should do just as I have done for you. I tell you the solemn truth, the slave is not greater than his master, nor is the one who is sent as a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them” (John 13:13-17).

Jesus ONLY did or said what His Father told Him to (John 12:49-50; John 14:31). If WE are to be like Jesus – in body, mind, and spirit – then we will and should do the same. The Father WANTS to heal. Scripture is VERY clear on that. The question is NOT if it is the Father’s will to heal, but if we are LISTENING to the Father’s will. Are we HEARING that the Lord wants to heal us and those we encounter? Do we KNOW when the Lord is saying “go declare healing to that person”? Yahweh can reveal to us through the whispering of the Holy Spirit revelation who believes He can heal. “This man was listening to Paul as he was speaking. When Paul stared intently at him and saw he had faith to be healed, he said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And the man leaped up and began walking” (Acts 14:9-10).

Do YOU believe that if THEY believe, the Father will heal them? Are YOU eagerly expecting (faithing) that healing to manifest in them? Healing has NOT passed away. Unbelief in healing has grown up. It is the weeds that are choking out the Word and making it of no effect (Mark 4:18-20; Mark 7:13). There is NO reason to believe the Lord doesn’t heal today EXACTLY as He did through Jesus. There is NO reason to believe the Lord won’t use you today EXACTLY as He used Jesus. There NO reason to believe ANYTHING but what the Word teaches, preaches, proclaims, and declares: healing is our RIGHT.

As we prosper our spirits (through fasting and prayer – Matthew 17:21) and let Adonai renew our minds to the way He works (through the Word – Romans 12:2); we will grow our belief, strengthen our faith, and deepen our relationship with Him (3 John 1:2). When we do this, we are abiding in JESUS. Investigating what the Word says about Him and what He says about Himself, which is what the Father says about Him. It is when we know about JESUS that we gain insight into what WE are to be and what WE are to do. Because in HIM, we are the Righteousness of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). We can do what He did – and more – because it is the Father through the Holy Spirit in us that does the work.
Believe it. Receive it. Walk in it.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Exodus 12:21-28

“Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel, and told them, “Go and select for yourselves a lamb or young goat for your families, and kill the Passover animals. Take a branch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and apply to the top of the doorframe and the two side posts some of the blood that is in the basin. Not one of you is to go out the door of his house until morning. For the Lord will pass through to strike Egypt, and when he sees the blood on the top of the doorframe and the two side posts, then the Lord will pass over the door, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever. When you enter the land that the Lord will give to you, just as he said, you must observe this ceremony. When your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’— then you will say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, when he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt, when he struck Egypt and delivered our households.’” The people bowed down low to the ground, and the Israelites went away and did exactly as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.” The destroyer passed over ALL Egypt and the Lord was there beside it preventing it from harming those who spread the blood. It was the blood that enabled the Passover, which saved the people. Jesus shed His blood for us. “Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough—you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed” (1 Corinthians 5:7). Jesus IS our Passover. Jesus IS Messiah.
