Daily Affirmation #30

Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God” (2 Chronicles 14:2, MEV). May this be our epitaph. For ten years this man was king and the land rested from war. Why? God gave peace to him (vs 6). God did that in response to what Asa did. Asa took down foreign altars (Exodus 20:3). He shattered pillars and images (Exodus 20:4). He urged the country to keep the Law and follow the Commandments (Joshua 1:8). To seek God’s face (2 Chronicles 7:14). Because Asa sought God, God gave him peace throughout the kingdom. They were able to build and strengthen and prosper. They had success. Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33, MEV). Asa is certainly a great example of that – and we have greater promises. In all we do, root out the ungodly influences and work toward seeking His face at EVERY opportunity. Your world will change when you honour Him!
