Healing Wings “There’s No If”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

The experts in the law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a reason to accuse him.
Luke 6:7 (emphasis added)

If He would heal. If. The question of whether or not Jesus would heal has been going on for two thousand years and doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon. Yet throughout the Word, from the beginning to the ending, Yahweh wants to do good things for His children. Jesus ALWAYS did miracles because they were the works of His Father. Why would we think anything would have changed? Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus is God. The Father is God. Holy Spirit is God. They DON’T CHANGE. Healing is still for today. It is not IF HE, but WILL WE.

I have five kids. Various ages. And they’re normal kids. They run around. They have disagreements. They get hurt in various ways. The eldest no longer comes running to me. But the twelve year old does. The four year old. And the ones in-between. A hug. Sometimes a smooch on the offended body part – within reason. Poof. It’s all better. Coming in tears and upsetedness. Leaving with smiles and a good mood. Should it be any different with us and our Heavenly Father?

Do any of us WANT to be diseased? To be anxious? To have cancer? To have attention deficit disorder? To get the flu? To have loss of limb? No. No one does. Yes, we learn to live with it. Yes, we are resilient. Yes, we make the most of everything we have around in our lives. But NO. We do NOT want it. None of us would CHOOSE it. Yet here we sit. For thousands of years. Waiting to see if Jesus will heal. To see if the Father WANTS to heal us this time. To be good enough to earn their action.

But they already acted. Jesus already went through the bruises, the stripes, and the wounds. He took the beating. He was sacrificed. He was crucified. He suffered. The wrath of Yahweh was poured out on sin and it washed away all that there was of it for always. Will He heal? He already DID. Past tense. All done. All given. Why? He is a GOOD Father. Only a BAD Father would leave you wounded, broken, hurting, and less-than-all if there is a way to fix you. Fathers have DIED to give their children a CHANCE of a better life. Should it be any different with us and our Heavenly Father?

Salvation is a work of the Father. It was walked out by Jesus and sealed over us by the Holy Spirit. Salvation: “Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the Lord gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer” (Isaiah 12:2). Will of the Father: “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him” (John 3:16-17). Walked out by Jesus: “So Jesus answered them, “I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise” (John 5:19). Sealed by the Holy Spirit: “And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation)—when you believed in Christ—you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14).

That’s salvation. A work of GRACE and MERCY extended to us AFTER the Father gives us HIS FAITH to believe in what HE has already done. THAT is how we receive it. By Grace through Faith. By believing and receiving. We don’t get worthy – quite the opposite. We don’t prove ourselves with works – “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are his creative work, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we can do them” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Love. Yahweh did it for His love. Not for us. For His love. “By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent his one and only Son into the world so that we may live through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:9-10). We accept this by faith. Be believe what Adonai says about it. We eagerly expect the work the Holy Spirit does in us. We put Jesus first, acknowledge Him to be Lord of our life and all around us. Then we confess it. And THEN we start living like it. Walking it out. Letting Him make us like Jesus. Salvation.

Healing works EXACTLY the same way. It is not an action that happens to you. It is not a work you achieve. It is a covenant relationship. Our part is the believing and faith. His part is the work He completed in, on, and through the cross. Two sides. He did and offers. We believe and accept. Your healing is behind you NOT because a work is coming upon you. Your healing is behind you because it was accomplished in the PAST. Like a football pass, Jesus is running right behind you. Running across Calvary. Running across the Communion table. Holding out your healing. Reach back and accept the pass. Accept the health placed right in your arms. DON’T FUMBLE.

How do we not fumble? We believe. We eagerly expect. We act like it is true because it IS. That’s the process of Faith. “For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame”” (Romans 10:11). You will NOT be shamed. You will NOT be disappointed. “For every one of God’s promises are “Yes” in him; therefore also through him the “Amen” is spoken, to the glory we give to God” (2 Corinthians 1:20). Yahweh says He wants you healed. Jesus said He healed you. Holy Spirit is offering you the healing.

Now tell me. Will you be healed?

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Leviticus 16:15-17

“Aaron must then slaughter the sin-offering goat which is for the people. He is to bring its blood inside the curtain, and he is to do with its blood just as he did to the blood of the bull: He is to sprinkle it on the atonement lid and in front of the atonement lid. So he is to make atonement for the Holy Place from the impurities of the Israelites and from their transgressions with regard to all their sins, and thus he is to do for the Meeting Tent which resides with them in the midst of their impurities. Nobody is to be in the Meeting Tent when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place until he goes out, and he has made atonement on his behalf, on behalf of his household, and on behalf of the whole assembly of Israel.” Messiah will die once-for-all. He is the sacrifice that encompasses ALL the sacrifices of the Old Covenant. There are sacrifices to cleanse you of ALL the sins. To reconcile you to God. To purify you. Messiah will be ALL of that. NONE of the curse that comes from not sacrificing can come upon you. “But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent, and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance” (Hebrews 9:7). Hebrews 9:7-14 spells it out. Jesus WAS that sacrifice. Jesus WAS the High Priest that stood in our place. That sprinkled the blood. That offered the sacrifice. Jesus IS Messiah.
