Ruach HaKodesh “Omniscient”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

For to us God has revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man that is in him? Thus also no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10-11

This is pretty cool. First off, Ruach HaKodesh has a LOT of knowledge. In fact, He has ALL knowledge. All the things humanity knows, all the things we have not discovered, and all the things about Elohim in His fullness. That is HUGE. And it isn’t STATIC knowledge. It says Ruach HaKodesh SEARCHES. That is active learning. Active searching. Always being aware of all the new things. A never-ending renewal of all knowledge so that there is never even a single thing unknown by Him.

The human side of the equation is simpler. We do NOT know all things. We don’t know all the things about humanity. We don’t know all the things about Elohim. We don’t know all the things about ANYTHING. We know some cool things and we are improving our knowledge on a regular basis. But we don’t come close to knowing all things. The ONLY time we get true spikes of revelatory knowledge is when Ruach HaKodesh is living in us.

This is why a relationship with Ruach HaKodesh is vital. We need to be listening to Him. Do we know how Adonai wants us to handle what’s facing us? Probably not. Do we know what to do so that it impacts everyone around us in the best way for everyone involved? No. Do we know what to do so that it meshes well with the things Adonai is doing with others? No. That is not even touching knowledge that we don’t have about things specifically. Knowledge we need but don’t have. Knowledge about Elohim we haven’t noticed, learned, or prayed into yet. When it comes to knowledge we’re at a handicap. We NEED it, but we don’t HAVE it.

It is easy to get hung up on what we know and what we think we know. It’s easy to be arrogant when we look at all the stuff we have managed whether it is surgical/medical technology, air traffic, space travel/exploration, underwater exploration, agriculture, technology, or any other field of human endeavors. We’ve done some crazy things. We’re very intelligent and creative beings. But we are a shadow of what we should be. And all of our knowledge – ancient and modern combined – doesn’t hold a candle to what we are capable of while listening to Ruach HaKodesh.

You want to get closer and deeper into Adonai? Ruach HaKodesh knows the way. Are you facing a crisis? Ruach HaKodesh knows the Father’s solution. You don’t know where to even start praying about your issue? Ruach HaKodesh has the words. In every area of our life, Ruach HaKodesh speaks answers. All day, all night, every day, always. He is NEVER EVER silent. The issue is always OUR ears and OUR hearts. We are either NOT listening or are too busy talking or we are demanding to hear a single type of answer. We can block the quiet voice in MANY ways. But if we will humble ourselves before Adonai Elohim and close down our mouths, sit still, and truly listen with open ears we WILL hear – and it will be something we can test with the Word.

Ruach HaKodesh was given to us for many reasons. But one reason He comes to live in us is just this: He always speaks truth and He always knows what’s going on. We need to start availing ourselves of that knowledge. We need to start asking the questions He leads us to and then listening with intent to the answers.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans that I am planning concerning you,’ declares Yahweh, ‘plans for prosperity and not for harm, to give to you a future and a hope.” How many people would claim this if they knew it was given as oppressors were coming to decimate the country? Maybe not. We always want to claim the positive, and often don’t care to walk through the negative. But in today’s rapidly changing world, I think there is real value to this verse. There is so much happening. So are many types of attacks – personal, cultural, governmental, international, medical, etc – that there is some kind of doom or gloom being trumpeted from the news media on a daily basis. We can really see ourselves as besieged people with enemies bearing down on the walls. BUT Adonai is with us. Our role is to rely on Jesus. To put our trust in Him. To focus our efforts on the Word, on prayer and fasting, on praise and worship, and on listening. We seek Him, and then we listen to what He says. We act when He says act. We stand when He says stand. We rely on Him. Guess what? We’ll be covered. We’ll be secure – even if everyone around us is falling. Because Elohim takes care of His obedient children. Every time.

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
