Fear No Fear

“So I scattered them about among all the nations whom they did not know, so the land was left desolate behind them with no one coming or going. And they made a desirable land desolate” (Zechariah 7:14, MEV). This was not the plan of the Lord. The Lord’s plan was for them to inhabit the land in perpetuity (Genesis 17:8). But they didn’t listen. They didn’t obey. They hardened their hearts and engaged in practices that were abhorrent to God. They refused His mercy and love and grace. They hindered God (Psalm 78:41) and made it so He could NOT bless them. In fact, they put themselves into a position where judgment was all He could give them. He was sovereign, but they made their choice and forced His hand. A land meant to be a paradise became a desert place. A desolate place. A deserted place. We need to pay attention to what God says. We need to harmonise with God’s will and God’s heart. It isn’t enough to go through motions. We MUST seek God’s heart and then alter our thinking to match His (Romans 12:1-2). This is how we make ourselves welcome in the places God brings us. This is how we enjoy the desirable land. This is how we stay out of the desert. Where God is, there is always BLESSING. We need to make sure we’re not keeping ourselves from enjoying it.
