who was declared Son of God in power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ our Lord
Romans 1:4
Omnipotence is defined as being one having virtually unlimited authority or influence. Absolute power. We don’t always think of Ruach HaKodesh that way. A dove, fluttering through the rafters, gently landing on a shoulder. Or a slight flicker of flame listlessly wavering atop a crown of fine hair. A gentle breeze wafting through a garden, stirring leaves and creating a gentle rustling sound. Scripture says the Father thinks it, the Son speaks it, and Ruach HaKodesh is the power which brings that which is not (words) into that which is (physical arrival of the thought into reality). Which means He made the great and strong wind ripping the mountains and crushing rocks. He made the earthquake. He made the fire. He wasn’t IN them (1 Kings 19:11-13), but He was the power by which they arrived. Ruach HaKodesh is NOT a wispy, flickering, flame.
He is the power that brought dry land up from water, that released water from rock, that split a sea, that put flesh on bones, that sustained a man in a fish, that withered vines, that burnt valleys, that raised the dead, and engulfed both bush and bodies in flame without harming them. He is the force regrowing limbs, restoring eyes, creating nerve endings, recalibrating brain balance, and creating material substance where material substance wasn’t previously present. Nothing was made without Ruach HaKodesh being involved. The Word MADE, but the power which vibrated out of Jesus as He spoke the Word? Ruach HaKodesh.
God IS strength. The source of strength IS strength. “Once God has spoken;
twice I have heard this:
that strength belongs to God” (Psalm 62:11). Ruach HaKodesh is that strength. We need to lose the idea that He is an idea. He is the form of power that is power. He IS. This SHOULD be heartening. It SHOULD be comforting. Ever been bullied? Ever been the lowest on the pole? Ever been the last to be licked and even then only because the teacher forced things? Well, wasn’t it great if you had someone to rely on? That one friend, relative, or parent who understood. Who supported you and loved you and gave you a safe place? Didn’t you see that person as greater than you? Wasn’t that one of the things that made the place safe? Well, Ruach HaKodesh was given to us as the ULTIMATE safe place. UNLIMITED power right there beside you. Is it any wonder Paul and David weren’t afraid? (Psalm 128:6, Hebrews 13:6)
Jesus was declared the Son of God with power. The power Jesus used which proved He was the Son of God (things like making the blind see and walking on water) were accomplished by the power of Ruach HaKodesh. One of the proofs of Jesus’ godhood was the unity with another aspect of the godhood, Ruach HaKodesh. This is the One we have dwelling in us. This is the One we have advising us. This is the One we have guiding, correcting, and comforting us. How can defeat be a part of our lives? How can sickness take a hold inside us? The power burning inside us will fry it! It can’t take root. It can’t survive the heat. Nothing can. There is NOTHING Ruach HaKodesh cannot accomplish with His power (Luke 1:35). He operates FULLY in the will of the Father. He is the manifested will of the Father. This is who lives inside us.
What can any ONE or any THING do to us?
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Genesis 50:20
“As for you, you planned evil against me, but God planned it for good, in order to do this—to keep many people alive—as it is today.” God has His plans hampered by people with the free will to refuse to obey. Please note this doesn’t DEFEAT His plans. It doesn’t STOP His plans. Take the Israelites. They were meant to enter the Land of Promise the FIRST time, not have a generation die in the wilderness. But they refused to cooperate. Moses started his mission ten years too early and cost the Israelites another thirty years of slavery. The Israelites were meant to be oppressed, not abused by the Egyptians. Later, they were meant to be in captivity, not abused by their captors. People disobeyed and did things they were never meant to. In some cases doing things God said He never even imagined (Jeremiah 19:5). This isn’t God not being sovereign. This is God being Merciful in not looking at all He could look at (and probably impact His relationship with us in our now). This is God letting us do things with free will. But He always does what He wants. Joseph could have learned the lessons he needed to at home before heading to Egypt because God can do anything, any where. BUT those brothers were bent on murder. God clearly used their sinful intent to make His plan happen without God being the one who caused it. From one point of view God made Joseph a prisoner. From a merciful point of view, He saved Joseph from abuse or death at the hands of his brothers. They meant to do evil and rid themselves of a problem. God chose to use that intent to bring about His plan. It doesn’t matter what God originally intended. What matters is God can use anything man does and make His plans come to pass. We have a GOOD God.
