“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying” (Zechariah 7:4, MEV). It is a WONDERFUL act of Grace and Mercy that we do NOT have to rely on our own words or our own thinking. How often do we not know what to say? How often do we feel lost? How often do we feel inadequate? But here is the Lord who has given us the Spirit of Truth who knows ALL things (1 Corinthians 2:10). He has promised that when we get called up on the carpet because of His Gospel we will have the words to say (Matthew 10:19). We are told what if we want wisdom we can ask for it (James 1:5). I have asked for and received words of wisdom that have enabled me to do things beyond my knowledge and save us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Because I listened and the knowledge came. In the same way we can ask and the words will come. The right ones for the situation. Words dealing with aspects of it that we aren’t even privy to. Words to open hearts to Him. Words to begin acceptance of healing. Words to reveal the Father’s love. Thank the Lord we have been let inside a better covenant, with better promises, and we have a God who comes through EVERY time.
