“The whole of your word is truth, and your every righteous judgment endures forever.” (Psalm 119:160). We as humans love the word ‘all’ when we’re getting things. We don’t like it quite so much when it comes to the Word. Because there are pieces we don’t understand. Pieces we don’t like. And pieces that we don’t want to conform to because of how we think that conforming will work. The prideful seek to change authority. The humble submit to it. We aren’t told to understand everything (although we can choose to work on that). We aren’t told to see the picture of what submission means (although that helps). We are told to submit. To conform our thinking to His thinking (Romans 12:2). When we do that we will start to understand. We will start to see what submission really looks like. We will start to realise some of the WHYS to what we’ve been asked to – not always though. The important thing isn’t the understanding or realising the why. The important thing is that we trust Him enough to say: your Word is truth and I will submit to what I find there. Not because I understand or because I see it. I will submit because YOU said it and I trust you, so that’s good enough for me. Period. Trust Jesus. Trust the Word. Submit to what you find there (even the simple reading, face value find). Trust Him. The rest will follow sooner or later. The important thing is the trust to obey.
