The priest is to go outside the camp and examine the infection. If the infection of the diseased person has been healed,
Leviticus 14:3 (emphasis added)
The best way to show that a thing is, is to show the thing. I know that seems obvious, but how often do we NOT do it? Teenagers talk a great game. Some of the greatest ever. Confident, strong, intense. But at home? Away from other people? In an environment that is ‘safe’? You can have COMPLETELY different kids. And romantically? Boy do they TALK, but when they are alone? You’ll find more couples that are timid and scared than you will brash and intense. Works the same way in the working world. A LOT of talk about how great they are, but alone you’ll find people often just as lost as everyone else.
The things of the Kingdom of God work the same way. Adonai does NOT want us to be all talk. He is NOT looking for salespeople. He knows how to communicate. He has an ENTIRE book full of smaller books telling ALL about Him. He has put into the hearts of humanity knowledge of Him and a desire for Him. “because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them” (Romans 1:19). “And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5). Yahweh needs no cheerleaders for HIS benefit.
We are called to be a light to the world. “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). What is the best light? A description of the light, or the light itself? Of course the light itself. Words on a page won’t light up a room. But a light will. Even a teeny, tiny, light will do it. The smallest iota of light will push back darkness.
Now, there is NOTHING wrong with words. The majority of our ministry has to do with words and getting them out into the world. But the BEST witness is simply the thing that we are wording about. I can – and will be – talking to you about healing every single day this year and it will not compare to you being healed, witnessing a healing, or having a solid testimony about a miraculous healing in my own life that I can attest to. BEING healed is the best witness there is about healing. This is so vital. We need to understand that all the mental gymnastics we can perform around an issue is nothing compared to seeing the issue in front of your own eyes.
At the same time, we need the Word to go with it because it is with hearing the WORD that our faith strengthens. When that happens we are more likely to accept the miracle AS a miracle. I know people who have witnessed the dead being raised. Today. Modern times. But there are believers out there who don’t believe it. They aren’t vindictive or judgmental or anything. They simply want to see evidence and documentation. Why? Because they were not there hearing the Word, strengthening their faith, and seeing it happen. No matter how wonderful the event, words about the event can weaken the impact.
“Jesus went throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness among the people” (Matthew 4:23). This was the model Jesus used. It was the model Jesus taught His followers to model. They did. “And now, Lord, pay attention to their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your message with great courage, while you extend your hand to heal, and to bring about miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus” (Acts 4:29-30). They prayed as a corporate body for the strength to speak the message while healing occurred. Healing arrives with the Word. The Word produces healing. This has been true since the Old Covenant (Proverbs 3:8). But TODAY in the New Covenant, we have the Holy Spirit within us. The Name of Jesus inside us. We have the WORD with us.
If we want to WOW the pharisees, priests, believers, and unbelievers of this world, we need to preach the Word. When we preach the Word, healing will accompany it. It will be a witness to the TRUTH of what we have been preaching. It will be the PROOF of the reliability of Yahweh to perform what He says He will perform. You can’t get away from that. You can’t deny it. You can’t hide from it. It is unalterable, eternal, and steadfast TRUTH. If your preaching of the Word isn’t accompanied by healings, there is something wrong. Either you’re preaching off the mark or those hearing you are off the mark – or not telling anyone of their healing. Healing is ALWAYS Adonai’s will. The Word is ALWAYS true. And the Lord Himself put healing and preaching together as a couple. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate”” (Mark 10:9).
Yahweh is not afraid for His people to be examined. When Adonai heals, the person is HEALED. Anyone witnessing the healing or hearing of the healing will be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. It is the best witness around. It transcends borders, languages, cultures, and politics. Healing is healing is healing. Don’t deny it. Don’t fight it. Let Adonai do what Adonai does: restore health to the sickly, peace to the troubled, and life to the lifeless.
Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Deuteronomy 18:19
“I will personally hold responsible anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet speaks in my name.” The Lord does not hold sin against those who do not know what sin is (Romans 5:13). But we hear about how things are wrong all the time. We hear the words of the Lord all the time. Jesus – the Word made flesh – came so that the world can hear the words of the Father. Moses told us that He would come. And that it was serious business. “Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you. Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people’” (Acts 3:22-23). Whoever will not hear the message of Jesus must bear their sin. Jesus is full of the Good News. Jesus IS the Word. Jesus IS Messiah.
