Daily Affirmation #48

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Confessing to God is good and proper, but God already knew about our sin. There are times – Holy Spirit WILL guide you – when the confessing is to those we have harmed. Oooo. I know. Squidgy feelings, right? Well, feeling lie and the TRUTH is more important. Sometimes we need to confess wrong doing and make it right. Not getting caught up in the moment and confessing every small little thing. But TRUE confession from a place of repentance and seeking to provide restitution and repairing of relationship. This isn’t hard if we don’t MAKE it hard. It isn’t the Hollywood drag out and fight, slamming doors and screaming until the neighbours call the cops thing. That’s fiction. This is real talk, real repentance, and real following the EXACT words of Holy Spirit who will give you what you need and the timeline so that it hits the other person how God intends. So that you can be restored to each other and once again walking in fellowship under His banner. Don’t be afraid of restoration. It clears the air, prevents bad feelings, and keeps everything from devolving into an emotional dumpster fire. Peace it until it dissolves. Do it with love. And do it hand in hand with Jesus.
