Ruach HaKodesh “Indwells”

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:19

Yahweh had some very clear instructions when it came to the tabernacle and the Temple. They were very clear for a VERY good reason. Yahweh is HOLY. Things that are not holy or unclean do not do well in His presence (Revelation 21:27; Leviticus 10:1-2). Though we are freed from the curse of the Law, Jesus having taken all our punishment and being as our sacrifice the offering to atone for us (Galatians 3:13), we are still called to be holy. “but as the one who called you is holy, you yourselves be holy in all your conduct, for it is written, “You will be holy, because I am holy.”” (1 Peter 1:15-16). Guess what? Yahweh doesn’t change (Malachi 3:6). He STILL wants us to be holy. Being holy is a REQUIREMENT if we want to get closer to Him.

Thing is, Jesus released Him into the world and salvation brought Him into us (John 20:22). We have Ruach HaKodesh living inside us. We are His abode. The place He resides. We have the holiness of Yahweh inside us. What are we supposed to do with that? Pay attention to what we pay attention to. No one under the Law was penalized for anything they did in ignorance. Their responsibility began when they gained knowledge of wrongdoing. Once they knew they did wrong, they were responsible for repenting and giving restitution. That hasn’t changed for us (1 John 1:9). If we are listening to Ruach HaKodesh, He will bring to our minds the things we need to change our thinking about, repent for, and – if needed – give restitution. That’s the correcting ministry of Ruach HaKodesh. It’s VITAL.

We have been given the privilege of being the righteousness of Jesus when we abide in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). We get to wear His image. When we go before the Throne, we look like little clones of Jesus. We ARE Him because He IS us. It’s beautiful. But we don’t always stay there, do we? We think of things that are unclean, which helps us think of things that are sinful, and once we think on them we get tempted by them. Once we’re tempted by them, it’s easier to pick them up and do them. Thing is, the inhibiting of our relationship with Jesus doesn’t start at the ‘I’ve sinned’ stage. It starts at the thinking of unclean things stage. Because darkness and light do NOT co-exist. Light doesn’t need darkness to define it – that’s a lie. There does not need to be balance – that’s a lie. Light could be the only thing in existence and we’d still recognize it as light and appreciate it as light – saying we can’t or won’t is a lie. When we start to play with unclean things, we become unclean and our relationship with Ruach HaKodesh kicks into gear.

It kicks in in the correction sense, not the fellowship sense. If we would LISTEN and ask BEFORE we started touching things, thinking on things, watching or reading things, we could AVOID a lot of things that are unclean – but that we might not realise are unclean. Ruach HaKodesh is here to instruct us, not just correct us. We can rely on His guidance. He LIVES in us. He doesn’t want a dirty house. He doesn’t want a house that doesn’t sparkle with the Life of Jesus in every way. He is here to help us walk the Way we should go. This is the great advantage we have with Him inside us: He doesn’t want to condemn us, but help us. The ultimate roommate.

Ruach HaKodesh, God Almighty, lives inside of us. He wants us holy because HE is holy. He wants us to be holy because that is when we have the best, realist, most expansive relationship with the Father that we can have. His power flows through us beat when our holy lightswitch is ON, not broken, filthy, or dangling with wires exposed. With Ruach HaKodesh living in us, there isn’t any room for trash. Utilise your relationship with Him to kick all that is unclean from your path. It may take time. It IS a process. But that is the journey we are on: removing from His temple anything we shouldn’t have let in in the first place. We ARE His temple. Don’t you think it’s time for some spring cleaning?

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, both joints and marrow, and able to judge the reflections and thoughts of the heart.” Yahweh cuts right to the heart and through all the garbage and baloney that we humans pack on. Onto our hearts, onto our memories, and onto our perspectives. The Word of God cuts through ALL of that and exposes us to His Truth – THE Truth. When we start seeing things from His perspective, it opens the real world to us. We can see all the possibilities of being whole and healed. Of leaving behind the muck and mire. Coming up out of the darkness and into the Light where we can breathe, really BREATHE, for the first time. He doesn’t let our lies and the lies of others hold us back. He doesn’t let broken perspective and broken memory hold us back. He doesn’t let the chains of addiction hold us back. He cuts through all of it to show us His love. His undying love and the Way He made so we can receive it. And then He cuts away all the everything we don’t need as we walk with Him. Becoming more like our Lord and Saviour every day. Jesus, not us, calling the shots and making us whole. What a GOOD God!
