And you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.
1 John 2:20
This is flat out truth. Ruach HaKodesh anoints us. The Father pours out Ruach HaKodesh as oil onto us (Luke 4:18; Acts 10:38). And then He anoints us further in the ways that the Father directs. He anoints out tongues to speak (Luke 12:11-12). He can also anoint us for some or all of the mission of Jesus that we as a corporate body have taken over (Luke 4:18-21). We have access to His Fruit, but He can anoint us with special outpourings of it or of any of the ministry giftings that we need to accomplish that which we have been called to. This IS His ministry in us.
“And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him” (1 John 2:27). This does NOT mean we don’t need to sit under the teaching of people here on Earth. We do. But this DOES mean that we don’t have to RELY on it. We have someone we can check things with to make sure we’re not absorbing bad teaching. We have someone who can provide commentary to us – the writer of the book itself. We have someone who can give us revelation knowledge on it – if we’ll open our eyes to see and our ears to hear. That’s just the start.
All things is ALL THINGS. This isn’t just things of Yahweh or things found in the Word. It is ALL things. That emergency at home? He can help you with that. Best route to avoid traffic? He can help you with that. The math you’re struggling with? The plumbing issue that started in the middle of the night? The food to buy for the week? Whether or not to check out that game/book/show? He can help you with that. Need money? He knows how you can work for it. Friend who is depressed? He knows how to help. Stain on your pants? He can walk you through the steps. He can DO it. He has ALL THINGS kind of knowledge.
Ruach HaKodesh is talking to us all the time about all the things that we are doing, experiencing, and facing. Every aspect of your life. Every detail. Every action. Every thought. Every sound from your mouth. Ruach HaKodesh has an opinion about it. Instruction about it. Guidance about it. He can tell you what the Father thinks about ANYTHING. He can direct ANY conversation. He can tell you what’s coming. He can PREPARE you. He can GUIDE you through the motions you need to do to accomplish what needs to be done. It sounds crazy, but He can do it. He can anoint your mind.
The best part of today’s verses is that it NEVER goes away. It remains inside us. It remains operating. Unlike the stovetop, if we leave it on it won’t burn up our house. But if we do leave it all it WILL help to burn out a whole bunch of other things that He knows aren’t beneficial to us. Anointing sets us apart. Anointing enables us to serve. Anointing can cleanse us. This is a very close working relationship. This is realising that you are called to something more than the things you’re doing. This is stepping into Kingdom assignment – which is why you were anointed in the first place.
We are not left high and dry. We are in a fully functional relationship with Ruach HaKodesh. A journey of extraordinary proportions. One that includes the anointing of the Father’s Blessing – which blesses us mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, relationally (in your relationships and relating to each other), and financially. It is an all encompassing Blessing that we walk in as we get in harmony with Yahweh by aligning ourselves with His Word.
The Spirit of Truth – Ruach HaKodesh – always leads us to the truth. To be a pleasing aroma set apart, anointed, to Adonai. To be a pleasing aroma is to be a living sacrifice. Full of seed (Word of God – grain offering), flowing with Love (the oil – Ruach HaKodesh), and teaching Truth (the wine). An anointed wave offering to Yahweh. An offering we offer daily, consistently, and moving toward constantly as we get closer and closer to Him. An anointing that NEVER moves away.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 73:1-28 (here 23-28)
“But I am continually with you; you have hold of my right hand. You will guide me with your advice, and afterward you will take me into honor. Whom do I have in the heavens except you? And with you I have no other desire on earth. My flesh and heart failed, but God is the strength of my heart and my reward forever. For indeed, those distancing themselves from you will be ruined. You destroy each who abandons you for harlotry. But as for me, the approach to God is for my good. I have set the Lord Yahweh as my refuge, in order to tell all your works.” The best thing we can do is walk toward Yahweh. Yes, it is not always comfortable. Yes, we absolutely need Jesus to accomplish it. Yes, we have to do it daily and we have to do it with intent. But look at all the positives we gain from submitting to Him? He strengthens our hearts, rewards us, provides us a refuge, gives us advice, gives us honour, fulfills our desires, and prevents our flesh from failing. That is a huge list of things available to us on a constant basis, because He isn’t going anywhere. Why would we? Everything about Him is for our good. Everything about Him is a blessing to us. What great character He has and that He has also given to us. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
