For all those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:14
We don’t like to look at verses like this much. But it is very clear. If Ruach HaKodesh is guiding you, you are a child of Yahweh. If you are not? You are not His child. It is that simple. It goes along with John 14:15 stating simply that if we love Jesus (Yahweh), then we WILL keep His commandments. These things are not arduous (Matthew 11:28-30). They are not ‘rules’ or dictatorial statements. They are statements from a loving Father seeking safety for His children. They are statements showing who is in fact His children and who are not (Matthew 7:21-23).
When we love Yahweh, we find ourselves obeying. It’s cause and effect. We love so we do. Like children before the world tells them they should be cynical. Doing what we ask, just because it is us who are asking. The innocent believing that it will be fine. Good, even. Young kids tend to be trusting and eager to do whatever you say – right up until you give them a reason not to be. One of the steady and wonderful things about Adonai is that He NEVER gives us a reason to NOT be trusting. We stop trusting or we don’t think we can or we aren’t told it’s really possible (like when someone says you never know what Elohim will do – and then they use Job as an example).
Ruach HaKodesh was given to us as a comforter, as a teacher, as a corrector, as a voice to remind us who we really are (in Jesus) and who we should be trusting (Jesus), and as a guide. He guides us into all truth (John 16:12-14). That’s the kind of guidance He gives. He takes us to the heart of matters. He takes us to where the feelings are, and then He helps us understand what they really are so that we know whether or not they’re emotion material. He reveals to us hidden emotions, rationales, and motivations. He can tell us all we need to know about anything that there is. He’s especially good at revealing insights of the Word – He literally wrote the book, after all.
Ruach HaKodesh leads us along Adonai’s Way. He tells us what we know to be right and encourages us to do it. He keeps us from ‘forgetting’ what we’ve heard. He is the steady commentary that we hear as we go through our day. That voice telling us what we KNOW is true, what we KNOW Adonai is saying, what we KNOW is the Father’s will. If we let ourselves be guided by Him – however imperfect our track record – we know we are His children.
No kid gets it right. Mistakes get made. Did you know that the vast majority of sacrifices in the Old Covenant were covering over mistakes that were made? They weren’t for intentional rebellion. Yahweh knows we’re gonna make mistakes. We can be guided through the messes we make. We can be guided out of the messes we make. We can be guided through the aftermath and restitution for the mistakes we make. And we can be guided around the splashy puddles where the mistakes we make live. It is all a question of how well we listen, how consistently we listen, and how obedient we are to what we hear.
Ruach HaKodesh is a guide. A guide through the country we find ourselves in AND through the country He comes from. He is a GOOD guide. But you know that already, if you’re one of Yahweh’s kids.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: John 1:12
“But as many as received him—to those who believe in his name—he gave to them authority to become children of God.” What a great promise. What a wonderful experience. To not be left on the outside. To not have to work, strive, and climb up some spiritual corporate ladder. To know – really KNOW – that you have a place. That one was made for you, kept for you, and even designed for you. Better than adoption, made a part of the blood family. What a wonderful love that is. What a wonderful gift. What wonderful news. What a GOOD God!
Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:
I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
