And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31
The world is all about empowerment, but it is a pale shadow of what Adonai has in place for ALL of us. Adonai’s empowerment leaves no one in the cold. It comes with no sorrow. It is – in a word – perfect. The definition of empowerment that Adonai employs is authority or power given to someone to do something. It is service to Adonai’s glory, Adonai’s way, in Adonai’s timing. It is centered on Jesus/Adonai and selfless love.
This is not the definition the world uses. The world sees empowerment as the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights. It’s people having power and control over their lives. It is centered on self and self-love. It is basically the devil’s viewpoint, which is not surprising since the devil exists in sin and knows no other viewpoint. It is completely selfish and is all about putting the reigns of your life in your own hands. In relying on your own wisdom and thinking. Which is NOT a good idea. “There is a way that seems upright to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).
How do we grasp Adonai’s empowerment and avoid the devil’s? “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). We do it by holding fast to Jesus through Ruach HaKodesh. It’s the ONLY way to live. It is truth that sets us free (John 8:31-32) because Yahweh sanctifies us with the Word (John 17:17), and Jesus is the Word (John 1:1,14) and Truth (John 14:6). Ruach HaKodesh is the Spirit of Truth and ALWAYS points us to Jesus. We become a pleasing aroma when we grab ahold of this because we are empowered to succeed as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1-2).
Adonai is a God of PEACE (Philippians 4:7; Romans 16:20). Through Jesus being in us and us being in Jesus we vindicate Adonai’s character – peace, love, and the rest of His Fruit (Galatians 5:22-23). When we vindicate His character – show and prove to be right, reasonable, and justified – the devil is crushed under our feet (James 4:7; Romans 16:20; Genesis 3:15; Ephesians 1:22). This is victorious living. This is abundant life (John 10:10). This is true EMPOWERMENT. The right and privilege to humbly submit to Adonai’s yoke and be led by the Father through all of our lives so that we can bring Him Glory and crush the devil with the truth and accuracy of Yahweh’s character – the thing he rebelled from. “But I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never carry out the desire of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 1 Corinthians 1:9
“God is faithful, by whom you were called to fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” Yahweh’s faithfulness is one of the true Blessings of all of existence. He does not change, he does not waiver. He is consistent and constant. His attitude toward is isn’t dependent on our performance. On our faithfulness. He gives us everything we need in Messiah Jesus to accomplish all that we are called to. He trains, equips, empowers, assists, corrects, and performs for us those works we cannot hope to perform on our own. What a GOOD God!
