“How long, O Lord? Will You forget me for good? How long will you hide Your face from me? . . . I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:1,6). The first line is how David FEELS. The last line is how David BELIEVED. Feelings vs trust in God. Are we going to go by what WE see or by what GOD sees? Because there’s a big difference there. When Balaam blesses Israel in Numbers 23:21 he is speaking what God told him to speak and says “He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, nor has He seen perverseness in Israel.” This is golden calf worshipping Israel. This is rebellion of Korah Israel. This is complaining about butter water, no water, manna, meat, and let’s go back to Egypt you brought us here to die Israel. But GOD isn’t seeing that! He is seeing beloved children. He is seeing His chosen people. He is seeing the jewel of His crown (first the Jew and then the Gentile – Romans 1:16; 2:10). He is seeing a people COVERED. What do WE see? Are we going to stick with our natural input system, our feelings, and mindset? Or are we going to make a conscious choice by intent and shift over to what God sees (2 Corinthians 5:21)? The UNSEEN (not the nothing) was the building blocks of everything. Unsees by US. Unseen on the PHYSICAL plane of existence (no matter how many layers it has). God sees that. He sees both. We see one, but we can BELIEVE both. In Jesus, we can PERCEIVE both. It takes TRUST in Jesus. By choice. With intent. On purpose. Like you can choose to wear pants or shorts. Like you can choose to take an umbrella or not. Choose to eat soup or steak. It’s a choice. A personal choice. Will you go with what your flesh is reporting, or will you go with what God is reporting? Gotta tell you, no matter WHAT it looks like to me, I’m going with God (Exodus 33:15). Will you?
