Fear No Fear

But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof! Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.

We are a three-dimensional culture. But we are also four-dimensional creatures. We do NOT simply operate in the ‘known’ ways. We also operate in the spiritual. And spiritually, there is no such thing as distance or time. Hard to wrap our minds around, but it is TRUTH. We CAN understand the concept, even though we cannot fully grasp how it works. We were created to understand the glimpse of how Yahweh works that we have been given. “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

We ALL have faith. We ALL have the same amount of faith. “For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). “Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). The faith OF God or God’s faith is a more accurate translation of Mark 11:22. We have all been given the same measure of God’s faith. We have the faith of God. It is a gift. We cannot DO anything, we HAVE it. It is a gift. So everything accomplished by faith isn’t done by our efforts. They are accomplished by us ACCESSING the faith He has given us. We ALREADY have all things He has blessed us with in our spirit. “You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image—in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth” (Ephesians 4:22-24).

How is it we do that? Well, we have in our spirit the mind of Christ. We have the mind of Jesus. Right now. We have it. What we need to do is to move our spiritual mind into our flesh mind. To renew our thinking into what our spirit thinks. To put it another way, so make sure we are body-soul-mind of ONE mind, not remain double-minded. We cannot receive properly when we are wishy-washy. We cannot receive in this life if we’re only expecting things in the next. If we are not SURE of what Adonai has promised, we will hum and haw and not take ANYTHING of what is available to us – no matter how much we pray and cry out and ‘hope’. “But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, since he is a double-minded individual, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:6-8).

All the things of faith are things that are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). We must use our spiritual sense to perceive them. Our spiritual sense is FAITH. The Word tells us that it is possible for us. That it is OURS by His Grace. We can use the faith of God that HE gave us to perceive the things of His Kingdom. How? My utilising the mind of Christ that we were given when we were born again. If we don’t we will miss it. If we do, we’ll have it. “For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So too, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God. And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is understood by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:11-16).

What does all this have to do with time? Or healing? Or distance? The centurion from our verse today did not count distance as a thing. He didn’t care about location – the location of Jesus versus the location of the sick servant. There were NOT factors of healing to him. He UNDERSTOOD authority. He UNDERSTOOD that when a word is given by one in authority, that word WILL come to pass. PERIOD. Nothing interferes with that. He totally believed with NO doubt OR unbelief that if Jesus said it would be so, it would be so. Period.

In the same way, we too can have that certainty. WE have it naturally in our spirit. If we meditate on the Word, truly ponder and think about it and pray it and listen to the Holy Spirit on it; our minds will renew to what we know if the spirit. We are not stuck with an earthly faith based on an understanding of authority. We have something better. We have Jesus’ mind. His mind. His faith. We have an incredible gift. The Word renews our thinking so we can access these things. We can believe the Word. We can utilise Jesus’ mind. Today. Now. Adonai can do that in us. The Word is how we do it (Romans 12:2).

The big thing is that WE are doing nothing. It is ADONAI doing it. Through the Holy Spirit by the Word. It is the process of us realising what is available to us. The process of us renewing our thinking so that we walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. It is our mind using the information from our spirit to re-train our flesh. Because the old spirit we had is dead (Romans 6:6). It’s been crucified. The old nature is gone. Toast. It CANNOT affect us. We only have to deal with the habits of the flesh. The things it learned.

One thing we need to do is teach it distance doesn’t matter. What Jesus did for us halfway across the world two thousand and more years ago is just as valid RIGHT NOW as it was then. What Jesus made available to us then and there, is here and now for us as well. We can walk in health. We can have healing. It can be ours because it has ALREADY been gifted to us. It is ALREADY ours. Don’t let distance deter you. With a WORD the centurion’s servant was healed. With the same WORD WE can be healed. Distance does not matter. The WORD is forever and always.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 2:2

“The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the Lord and his anointed king.” Messiah will OWN the title ‘Anointed’. Messiah MEANS ‘Anointed One’. Whomever it is that Yahweh has designated as the One to Redeem us will BE anointed. It will be His nature. “He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is translated Christ)” (John 1:41). They RECOGNISED that Jesus was the Anointed of Yahweh. “Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”” (Acts 2:36). Jesus WAS and IS the Anointed One. They recognised it and called Him by the title that was His ALONE. Jesus IS Messiah!
