Now when Jesus learned of this, he went away from there. Great crowds followed him, and he healed them all.
Matthew 12:15 (emphasis added)
Jesus was a very accepting person. It didn’t matter who you were, He accepted you. It didn’t matter if He didn’t like you personally (Pharisees, for example). He saw you with the Father’s eyes and accepted you. He didn’t approve of all behaviour. He called people out. He spoke of a righteous standard and didn’t waiver. He was outspoken. At times He was in your face. He spoke Truth and never compromised. But He accepted you. It’s as if He treated you like a thinking adult. Gave you all the information you needed to make a decision, encouraged you to make the right one, even entreated you, but respected the choice you made – but also made sure you understood exactly what choice you had made. It was unique.
That attitude is the same one Yahweh has. (Acts 10:25-37). The helping hand He holds out to one person, He holds out to every person. The love He has for one person, He has for every person. It does not depend on how you see Him. It does not depend on how much you obey Him. It does not matter how much you believe Him. He feels the same toward us all. No whether we are able to reach out and take what He wants to give us? That has to do with us, what we believe, if we obey, and how we see Him. But on HIS end? He feels the same and wants the same for ALL of us.
The easiest way to show that is to walk it out. Jesus died for us all. He made the choice, made the sacrifice, before anything had ever happened. Before we fell. Before we were created. Before the devil rebelled. Before it ALL. Now that is love. Willing to make a way where a way wasn’t needed yet, but would. Willing to make sure that nothing could stand in the way of having the relationship that He wanted with what He was going to create. Knowing the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) and making sure the ending He wanted was the ending that would happen. Jesus walked that out for us (John 3:14-15). But not everyone trusts Him.
In the desert, because of their rebellion, the Israelites ended up so far out of the Blessing poisonous snakes were able to enter the camp (Numbers 21:6-9). Yahweh made a way. He had Moses make a bronze snake and lift it up on a pole that everyone could see if they only lifted their eyes and looked at it. They were told to look and if they would look, they would be healed and live. Easiest healing ever. But many died. They did not trust the words. Even if others got healed, they had the worry/concern/fear that THEY wouldn’t. Maybe they thought Yahweh didn’t love them enough. Maybe they were worried that because of their behaviour, He wouldn’t. Maybe they weren’t certain it was His will for THEM. They failed to TRUST. Because they failed, they did not live. They chose their fear over their future.
Jesus has been lifted up in the same way. We preach that truth to the world. Again and again. Jesus saves. Yahweh loves. If you repent and submit, you WILL be saved. But people don’t look. They don’t trust. They are choosing their fear. One way Adonai gave us to show that we are speaking truth is healing. Healing with a word is NOT natural. No matter how you look at it, it is NOT natural. If we look at what is around us we can see that it does not happen in the world around us. Healing in the natural world is a slow, uneven, fraught with peril process that does not always work. It leaves scars, it isn’t always even, it isn’t always complete, and you are always left less than you were when you started. The medical industry has VASTLY improved those processes. They have saved COUNTLESS lives. But it is still imperfect. There are still failures. It does not always work.
Jesus ALWAYS worked. Every time. Total restoration was possible. It was what He offered. Some took healing alone, but others took wholeness (Luke 17:11-19). Jesus hasn’t changed (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus WILL NOT change. Adonai is constant in all His persons. He offers SUPERNATURAL healing to EVERYONE. Because He loves us. Because He wants to show His Word can be trusted. Because He wants a noticeable sign to draw people close so that He – raised up for us – can draw people to the Father. Healing is not the ONLY sign or light. But healing is something EVERYONE wants because the curse is so prevalent. Sickness and disease and mutations of the natural, created order are everywhere. Every culture. Every people. Every continent. We know it. We see it. We fear it. So healing is universally sought, understood, and desired.
Jesus does not disappoint. He offers it to everyone. Whether they believe in salvation or not. Whether they trust Him as Lord or not. We preach His Word and if they will trust what they hear and come to Him, they CAN be healed. He heals ALL. He turns NONE away. He plays NO favourites. He IS healing, He IS love, He is Messiah, He IS our full redemption. Trust Him enough to look foe Him and take the healing He offers. Don’t wait foe Him to ‘do’ something. TAKE IT. It’s right there. Don’t have unbelief. Don’t doubt. Trust Him on this and let Him prove His Word is true. And if THAT is true, the rest is true. Isn’t that worth trusting for?
Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 2:7-8
“The king says, “I will announce the Lord’s decree. He said to me: ‘You are my son. This very day I have become your father. Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your personal property.” Messiah will be crucified and resurrected. No one else will be able to take the place of Messiah as that sacrifice of Yahweh’s Firstborn Son. Jesus was crucified for us and the Father resurrected Him by the Holy Spirit. “When they had accomplished everything that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem. These are now his witnesses to the people. And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors, that this promise God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son; today I have fathered you.’” (Acts 13:29-33). Jesus IS Messiah!
