Daily Affirmation #68

But You are holy, O You who inhabits the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3, MEV). Psalm 22 is quoted in the New Covenant seventeen times. It is one of the MOST prophetic Psalms about Messiah Jesus. Jesus even quoted it Himself on the cross (Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34). When a Rabbi quoted the first sentence of something, it was taken for granted that he was referencing the whole thing. Psalm 22 starts off in a darker vein, but ends up absolutely triumphant. Jesus became our sin. He took it into His body and carried it to the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24). When He did that, He was forsaken by His Father because He was sin and the Father HATES sin. It CANNOT be a part of Him in ANY way (Isaiah 59:2; James 1:17-18). Jesus took that banishment for US. He did it so that we would NEVER be forsaken by God. EVER. We are NEVER lonely because He is ALWAYS with us. God became man so that we could be receptacles of Himself. Name anyone who has ever done that. No other religion in the world claims relationship like that. They are ALL poor shadows of that kind of Love, Grace, Mercy, and Fellowship. God is HOLY and deserves our praise. God is our SAVIOUR and deserves our praise. God is ABOVE ALL and deserves our praise. Our praise should mark our days, bookend them night and day, and be the metronome of our lives. Thank you, Yahweh, for all that you have done for us. Thank you, Jesus, for being our sacrifice. Thank you, Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) for dwelling inside us. Oh, what a UNIQUE and GOOD GOD you are!
