But in all these things one and the same Spirit is at work, distributing to each one individually just as he wishes.
1 Corinthians 12:11
According to Strong’s: ‘In the Greco-Roman world, the concept of personal ownership and identity was significant. The use of “idios” would resonate with the cultural understanding of property, family, and individual rights. In a society where lineage and personal honor were highly valued, distinguishing what was “one’s own” was crucial for maintaining social order and personal dignity.’ Ruach HaKodesh gives these gifts to individuals and they become the individual’s gifts. Gifts of service. Not gifts to say ‘whee-heee lookit me!’ Gifts to bring glory to Yahweh be ministering how He wants to who He wants when He wants with the gift(s) He wants. It is Ruach HaKodesh that provides. We don’t. And remember that these gifts for specific purposes and specific times are APART from what we ALL as believers get to operate in on a daily basis – if we’re willing.
1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us we have been MADE Adonai’s wisdom. So we have access to that. And if you think you don’t, ask Him for it and He’ll give it to you freely and willingly (James 1:5). We’ve all been given THE SAME measure of trust (Romans 12:3). His trust (Mark 11:22). And Jesus’ trust is the trust that upholds us (Galatians 2:20) – it is what keeps us living. We have a mandate to not only preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, but to heal the sick – whether they are sick physically, mentally, emotionally, demonically, or ANY way – (Matthew 10:8, 28:19-20; Luke 9:2, 10:9 & 19). In fact, every single miracle that Ruach HaKodesh worked through Jesus is a miracle that He can work through YOU and ME (John 14:12). At times, every member of the body of Christ can prophesy, discern spirits, speak in tongues, and interpret tongues. All believers are to teach others about their faith in Christ. We can ALL do ALL these things based on the FACT that we are on Jesus and Jesus is in us (1 John 4:13). Period. Word says so. Done deal.
But. It ALSO does NOT mean that we all have these gifts as supernatural giftings operating in our lives on a daily basis. If you have a supernatural gift of the Spirit, it will repeatedly occur. You’ll operate in this area, and it will come relatively effortlessly compared to those who operate in that area without the supernatural gift. Also, you might get given more than one. They are VERY complimentary. They work well together, they layer with ease, and sometimes more than one is required. Jesus is directing and Ruach HaKodesh anoints and appoints us. We’re not being greedy. We’re not trying to get them. Because we all have access to everything already. So we’re submitting to His will in His yoke to do His work His way. If we need a supernatural gifting, it will be there. If we don’t He’ll still be there and signs and wonders WILL happen. It will all be good.
But. 1 Corinthians 12:31 tells us that there is value in seeking these gifts. As we are faithful in the general access we all have, we are allowed to seek more (Luke 16:10). We are allowed to desire to have the supernatural gifting(s) operate in our lives. This implies that our seeking earnestly a certain gift could have some bearing on the decisions of Ruach HaKodesh. You know what? If you’re humbly submitted to Yahweh, it’s not bad to desire to want more. You know why? Because you won’t be jealous if others have it. You won’t be disappointed if it isn’t happening for you. You won’t be angry or upset if it never happens. When we are TRULY submitted with humbleness, we acknowledge that His wisdom is greater, His knowledge is complete, and if we do what He says and ONLY what He says, we will have great things, greater things, and will be totally content doing the work He’s called us to and participating with Him in the works HE wants to do in, through, and around us. They’re His gifts and we’re okay with HOWEVER He wants to use them. Glory to Him, boy is it a JOY and a PRIVILEGE to see Him work. What a walk we have in Jesus! Amen.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: James 4:7
“Therefore subject yourselves to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you” The devil tried to get Jesus to be jealous. He tried to get Jesus to be full of Himself. He tried to get Jesus to do things Jesus’ way. He did it in the desert when Jesus was weak with hunger and desperate to live. He did it when Jesus was walking in the revelation that He was the Son of God. He did it when Jesus was desperate not to suffer pain if He didn’t have to. But every time. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Jesus used the Word to demonstrate that the proper way to live, move, and be, was to be submitted to the will of the Father which IS the Word. And every time Jesus did it, the devil fled. The devil cannot stand in the light of trust in the Word. It is a form of worship, and Ruach HaKodesh always responds to our trust. An extravaganza of His Glory erupts in the spiritual realm EVERY time we do it. It’s like the flames of the fiery furnace that drove everyone backward for fear of death. The devil CANNOT stand Yahweh’s heat. And Yahweh has given US the ability, the authority, and the mandate to wield it. All we need to do is draw our sword, which is the Word of Adonai, and IT does the rest. We stand. It fights. We agree with it, submit to it, and declare our willingness to follow it. The Word shines and burns with TRUTH and the devil flees. All without US doing anything but agree and trust in Adonai. What a GOOD God!
