Fear No Fear

“He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully” (Psalm 24:4, MEV). This verse is telling us who can come into the presence of God Almighty. And let me tell you, friend, ain’t NONE of us humans! Who has lived their life with completely clean hands? Who has had a completely pure heart without ANY shadow or lust or unrighteous anger or bitterness or selfishness? Who hasn’t been vain or proud or full of themselves or put themselves (even if just in their mind) above someone else – especially in sin (at least I’m not a _____)? Who has not told a lie – whether black, white, purple, or aquamarine? ALL of us have done this. People are INHERENTLY selfish when they are honest with themselves. YES, humans can be spectacularly generous. YES, humans can be kind, loving, nurturing, and honest. But not all the time. Ever. Only Jesus. Because He was fathered by God and not a male human. Jesus was born of a female human in order to take on humanity, but His nature was pure and un-sinful. In HIM and HIS accomplishments WE are made whole and pure and un-sinful (2 Corinthians 5:21). We are given a RIGHTEOUS nature so that we will NOT sin EVER – without choosing to (1 John 3:6). What a GOOD God! What a GREAT gift! What GOOD NEWS! Thank you JESUS for becoming what we could not, so that we – in you – can come to the Throne of God to worship, adore, and love Him face to face.
