Go, gather all the Jews that are found in Susa and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, both night and day. I and my young girls will fast likewise, and then I will go to the king, which is not according to the law; if I perish, I perish.
Esther 4:16
Trust. It does NOT always come naturally to us. Yet it is the most important thing because it is THE basis of our relationship with Adonai (Hebrews 11:6). To bolster our trust and to get the highest level of available power flowing in our lives, we have to harmonise with Adonai. We have to become what He would like, where He wants us, and what He wants us to do. Not OUR will, but HIS. Jesus told His disciples about the power that can be unlocked in their lives when they prepared properly (Matthew 17:20-21).
How do we know what to do to prepare? How do we manage to defeat the flesh – which HATES anything that isn’t about it – and stick to the Lord’s path? Trusting in Jesus. It’s the ONLY way. Without relying on Jesus and what Jesus did for us, we can’t walk this life of a believer. Our flesh has NO strength. It is IMPOSSIBLE for us to succeed at what Adonai wants us to succeed at. Only JESUS succeeded. He is the ONLY one who has EVER kept the Law completely in word, thought, and deed. He is the ONLY one who is righteous. It is only when we are nestled in His arms that we can engage His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
We need to do more than just speak the Word, read the Word, hear the Word, and study the Word. We must REMEMBER the Word. Ruach HaKodesh brings to our mind the remembrance of the Word. He brings it to mind. He tells us about it. He commentates what He wrote through the scribes who wrote it down. It is the WORD sanctifying us (John 17:17) that renews our minds (Romans 12:2). When we are renewed and sanctified, we can manage to abide in Him (John 15:4-9). That is how we succeed: by letting Jesus’ success be our reality.
Without Ruach HaKodesh teaching us how to prepare ourselves, and walking us through the process every time we do it, we would be lost. Jesus said that the time would come when we would have to fast in order to be close to Him (Luke 5:35). When we live as Ruach HaKodesh shows us to live and do the things that He tells us to do, then we are able to be who He wants us to be. When we have the power of the Father flowing through us by Ruach HaKodesh living in us, and focused on the Word for how we should speak, think, act, and do. Not a removal of our free will, but a use of our free will to be more and more like Jesus. Without Ruach HaKodesh to help us prepare for our every step, how could we ever succeed?
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 25:15
“My eyes are continually toward Yahweh, because he will take my feet from the net.” How is it that we are freed from the troubles that both come upon us and that we create? Adonai. Every time. He is the ONLY one who can save us. He is the ONLY one who can set us free. It happens because WE keep our eyes on Him. Imagine that Adonai only speaks in sign language and the signs are His Word. If we don’t keep our eyes on the signs, we will never know what He is saying. We won’t even know how important they are. Without keeping our eyes on Adonai, we will be stuck where we are. We won’t know He is extending His hand to us. We don’t know that we could take it and be lifted out. We won’t hear His comforting words. He won’t have His guidance. Every good thing comes from Him, but we need to keep our eyes on Him to see it, to engage it, and to walk in it. That’s one reason why we have Ruach HaKodesh – to remind us to keep our eyes up so that we can see the fullness of Adonai working in our lives. What a GOOD God!
