Fear No Fear

For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him
Mark 3:10 (emphasis added)

This is an important verse because it is the FIRST time we see people clamouring to touch Jesus in order to be healed. That’s important because it is very likely THIS is the report that was heard by the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34). It was because of THIS report that she was able to MEDITATE and SEE herself getting HEALED by TOUCHING Jesus’ robe. We are in the SAME situation as these people. A touch is all that is needed, but we MUST believe.

These people were able to see themselves being healed at a touch because of the MANY that Jesus already healed. They saw the Father’s miracles that Jesus performed and crowded in. They pressed toward what they SAW in order to RECEIVE what Jesus was offering. SEEING is so important for a believer. Because the things of the Kingdom are NOT visible things, but invisible. “because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). The unseen is not seen, but it is very real. If you want a human example, look at physics.

Quantum field theory describes the microscopic world of particles very differently to everyday life. Fundamental ‘quantum fields’ fill the universe and dictate what nature can and cannot do – as far as we can detect, anyway. In this description, every particle can be represented by a wave in a ‘field’, similar to a ripple on the surface of a vast ocean. One example is the photon, the particle of light, which is a wave in the electromagnetic field. We cannot see these particles as individual things, but we know they are there because we can detect them. The Kingdom of God is just as real, though it is just as unseen. If you want to measure it, look all around you and you will see the evidence of the influence of Yahweh on the people of this world – just like the light emitted from a bulb.

We may not understand all the nuts and bolts of the world around us, but we CAN detect the results of the influence of unseen things. Why is it that whenever things head into a spiritual realm, we suddenly don’t believe? It is true some people will take the stance that the natural world has unseen things that can be MEASURED and TESTED. Yet, so does the spiritual. “Do not extinguish the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt. But examine all things; hold fast to what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21). ““Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my temple. Test me in this matter,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out blessing for you until there is no room for it all” (Malachi 3:10). Adonai is not afraid of the opportunity to prove Himself true and trustworthy.

Again and again Yahweh tells us that if we, then He. Which means that there are ways these things operate. Not ‘rules’ but laws. Laws of the Kingdom, not the legality of religious thinking – from which we have been made FREE in Messiah (Romans 8:2). The things of the Kingdom are PROVABLE if you do WHAT Adonai says the WAY Adonai says to do it. It isn’t complex. Jesus did it. We’re called to do it to, because we are called to be like Him, BY Him. “I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).

This world and ALL the people in it can come to Jesus. It takes only a touch. A brief moment. But if they don’t SEE it first, how can they imagine themselves doing it? How can they meditate on what HAS happened in order to pluck up the courage to DO IT THEMSELVES? THAT is the point of a testimony. A verbal, visual, and captivating report of what happened so that everyone can have it too. ‘If it happened to me, it can happen to you’. “Then Peter started speaking: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is welcomed before him” (Acts 10:34-35).

The testimony of Jesus as recorded in the Word and the testimonies of other believers around the world from that time to this inspires us to reach out and take what Adonai is offering. Jesus never asked us to uproot mountains and wander around with them over our heads. We aren’t to LIFT mountains, but to SPEAK to them. “I tell you the truth, if someone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him” (Mark 11:23). What Yahweh says is possible IS POSSIBLE. Yes, there can be a delay between us taking what Adonai offers and the physical manifestation of that thing. But what we BELIEVE is that we received it the MOMENT we prayed about it – because spiritually that is the total and complete truth. We need to stop speaking to Yahweh about what is bothering us. Stop asking for what He has already given. And to speak to our mountains, speak to our problems, and appropriate in OUR spirit what Jesus ALREADY accomplished through HIS.

Jesus healed MANY. It took only a TOUCH. Jesus is the SAME today as He was then (Hebrews 13:8-16). Meditate on it. See yourself in the stories, getting healed with but a TOUCH of His clothes. Picture it, dwell on it, and then receive it. Don’t look ahead to what’s behind you in Jesus. Jesus ALREADY healed EVERYONE of EVERYTHING – IF they’ll accept Him and their healing. Adonai NEVER misses. It is WE who fail to take what is being offered. Let the Word renew your mind to what you ALREADY have access to (1 Peter 2:24; Romans 12:2; Hebrews 4:16).

If you will spend some time really SEEING yourself whole, you can reach out and touch Him today. It doesn’t take long. It can happen in a moment. It doesn’t take much. It takes only a touch from a believing heart – without unbelief. See it, believe it, and receive it today. Don’t try and LIFT your mountain. SPEAK to it with the authority that Jesus’ Blood gives you!

“My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? I groan in prayer, but help seems far away.” The Messiah prophetically cried out here. Destined to be forsaken because of the sins of others. Crying out because there is NOTHING Messiah did to deserve this treatment, punishment, and curse. Jesus was lifted up on a tree, suffering and dying for OUR sins. Jesus chose to die for US in spite of NOT deserving it. “God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus became SIN so that we could become RIGHTEOUS. Jesus is our redeemer. Jesus IS the Messiah!
