The voice of Yahweh is over the waters; the God of glory thunders. Yahweh is over many waters. The voice of Yahweh is powerful. The voice of Yahweh is majestic. The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars.
Psalm 29:3-5
The voice of Adonai is a POWERFUL thing. Way more than we think. Way more than we can truly realise. “The voice of Yahweh flashes flames of fire. The voice of Yahweh shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of Yahweh causes deer to give birth and strips the forests bare” (Psalm 29:7-9). Can you imagine what COULD happen if the voice of Adonai broke out? If He really SPOKE? The world could end. Creation could break. With a single nostril blow – not even a major one – Adonai parted the Red Sea at Gulf of Aqaba (Exodus 15:8-10). And yet, we don’t always recognise it when He uses it.
“Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have both glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” Now the crowd that stood there and heard it said it had thundered. Others were saying, “An angel has spoken to him!”” (John 12:28-29). The Father spoke OUT LOUD right from heaven in an AUDIBLE voice to ANYONE and EVERYONE nearby. And they thought it was thunder. A natural occurrence. At most a fluke on a clear day. But it was Adonai speaking. What hope do we have to discern? Ruach HaKodesh. He is the receiver that tunes us into Adonai’s voice. Without Him consistently and constantly directing our ears to Adonai’s signal, we would be lost.
Now, He cannot make us LISTEN. WE need to be cleaning our ears with the Word on a regular basis. But we wouldn’t know where to direct our hearing if it wasn’t for Ruach HaKodesh. He is the one who helps us by getting us pointed in the Father’s direction. That’s why He wrote the bible. He directed the ears of the scribes in the right direction so that they could hear all 66 books. So that they could get every letter correct. So that we would have the exact words of Almighty Elohim, the Great I AM written down for our benefit.
Every day that we get up, we can thank Adonai that Ruach HaKodesh is with us and keeping our spiritual ears focused on the voice of Adonai (John 10:27-28). The power of the Father is in His WORDS and those words echo throughout Creation. Thank Adonai that we are tuned into Him and what He has to say. It changes our life and transforms our world. Thank you for what you do, Ruach HaKodesh.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Hosea 3:5
“Afterward the children of Israel will return and seek Yahweh their God and David their king. They will come in fear to Yahweh and to his goodness at the end of days.” Considering human nature and the obvious way that we consistently do foolish things – like walking away from our Loving Creator because we think that we know best – it is a HUGE comfort that Adonai STILL won’t leave us alone. He does NOT leave us to be destroyed. He PRESERVES our life. Though some may choose to fall away, the goodness of Adonai preserves a remnant to ensure that we turn back to Him. Not because of our efforts or because we suddenly decide to obey, but because His GOODNESS toward us leads us back to Him. Again and again, He does not let us escape His love for us. What a GOOD God!
Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:
I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
Psalm 34:8
