Healing Wings “Centreline”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

The whole crowd was trying to touch him because power was coming out from him and healing them all.
Luke 6:19 (emphasis added)

A centreline is a real or imaginary line that is equidistant from the surface or sides of something. If you are holding to the centreline you are right in the middle. Not at the bottom. Not at the top. Not on the left. Not on the right. Direct centre. Not only are you assured that you will get to wherever the path is going, you are assured that no matter WHAT is happening on the OUTSIDE, it will NOT touch you.

Not at the top or the bottom. It sounds negative, doesn’t it? Equidistant means right in the middle, which sounds good, but the synonyms aren’t. Middle-of-the-road. We use that for bland and inoffensive. Middlemost or midmost. Not quite there. Not the first, not the last. Meh. Smack in the middle. That one is more positive. Right down the middle is a plus when scoring, isn’t it? No one can say you didn’t make it. That you didn’t achieve. You were right in the middle. But look at marks in school, and smack in the middle is again a meh. Not outstanding. Average. What about straddling the fence? It means you’re not making a decision. You’re picking both sides of the situation. You’re not cold and you’re not hot. Jesus doesn’t favour straddlers (Revelation 3:15-16). So what is this position then? What is it that Adonai is offering us? I think the enemy and the world have worked so hard to make the middle a meh is because when dealing with Yahweh, middle is BEST and they don’t want us to see that, shoot for that, or reach that.

Let your eyes look directly in front of you, and let your gaze look straight before you. Make the path for your feet level, so that all your ways may be established. Do not turn to the right or to the left; turn yourself away from evil” (Proverbs 4:25-27). This is a HUGE positive. Level place to walk means we don’t HAVE to stumble. Right in the middle means we don’t HAVE to fight to stay on the road. Centreline means we AREN’T in danger of falling off. It means we CAN see what is coming and PREPARE for it. Nothing is going to leap out at us and take us by surprise.

But life is full of surprises, isn’t it? Not spiritually. Only naturally. Something comes up and we know EXACTLY how to deal with it. The Word. We look to the Father who saw this coming from before Creation was created (Isaiah 46:10). He made our solution before the problem thought about us. Jesus made a Way for us to access that solution. Holy Spirit speaks the reminder of our trust in that. He points to where we will find the Word of our solution about our salvation from the problem that the Father sees as an opportunity (Romans 8:28).

A good example of this is ‘desert’ or ‘dry’ places. You hear about these and they are always presented as a negative. ‘I feel so far from Adonai’. ‘If only Yahweh would move.’ But those are FEELINGS and we are NOT dependent on FEELINGS (John 20:28-29). In JESUS, there IS NO DRY PLACES. “Let the wilderness and desert be happy; let the arid rift valley rejoice and bloom like a lily! Let it richly bloom; let it rejoice and shout with delight! It is given the grandeur of Lebanon, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the grandeur of the Lord, the splendor of our God” (Isaiah 35:1-2). That doesn’t sound dry. That sounds like a RICH source welling up inside us. Jesus confirmed it. “But whoever drinks some of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”” (John 4:14). That is the OPPOSITE of dry.

My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me. They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8). Those who are in JESUS do not HAVE dry places. They do not experience the DESERT. They are right on the CENTRELINE of the Kingdom and there is NOTHING touching them but the Anointing that rests on Messiah Jesus (Acts 10:38). The Anointing frees (Luke 4:18-21). The Anointing breaks yokes (Isaiah 10:27). The Anointing saves (Psalm 20:6). The Anointing heals (James 5:14-15). The Anointing teaches (1 John 2:20).

Now as for you, the anointing that you received from him resides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie. Just as it has taught you, you reside in him” (1 John 2:27). This Anointing of His Blood is what we receive. We receive it IN JESUS because it PERMEATES Jesus. “But he was silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”” (Mark 14:61-62). Christ comes from ‘Christos’ which is Greek meaning ‘the anointed one,’ or ‘the chosen one.’ The Hebrew word meaning the same thing is ‘Mashiach’ or Messiah. Anointing is so much a part of Jesus it permeated Him. Permeate means to spread throughout (something); pervade. To soak in, through, and drip off of.

Today’s verse says power was coming out from him. That’s the Anointing. Jesus’ Blood Conscious Anointing. Aware of His place, His title, His empowerment, and His Anointing. It was so thick, rich, and full that it spilled over. Spilling over is how Yahweh does things (Luke 6:38). Jesus was conscious of it. Aware of it. He moved with it. And He kept it topped up with worship, personal prayer, personal fasting, and regular church attendance where He could HEAR THE WORD.

It was so thick they only needed to TOUCH Him and healing happened. The Anointing is from the Father DIRECTLY. NOTHING of the Father has sickness in it. Get near to Him and He will get near to you (James 4:7-10). Get near to Adonai and healing will get near to you is another way to think of it. Adonai FIRST. ALL else follows (Matthew 6:33). We are Anointed by Jesus. We are Anointed with power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). It is the SPIRIT which we were given. It is the SPIRIT in which we can operate because we are ANOINTED of Adonai Himself.

The Anointing can draw people like nothing else because it is a physical thing. We cannot see it. We cannot always feel it. But it is THERE. It has WEIGHT. And it can do all the things that the Word says that it can do. But it will not pour down on you when you step out from under it. It cannot reach you when you are out of where you should be. If you want the Anointing to rest on you, be like Jesus. Walk the centreline. Stay in the middle. And when you do, seeking Adonai with ALL YOUR STRENGTH, with ALL YOUR RESOURCES, and with ALL YOUR HEART, He WILL direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6). He will correct you (Hebrews 12:7-11). He will keep you in the PALM OF HIS HAND (Isaiah 49:16). You will LIVE on the centreline. And you will KNOW it.

The crowds WILL come. The Anointing WILL be what THEY want. Your LIGHT will be seen and by raising up Jesus, we will help them to see Him. When they do? They will be DRAWN TO HIM (John 12:32). And He will HEAL them of ALL sickness of every kind because there is NO SICKNESS IN ADONAI!!!! When we are in the perfect will of the Father, of Yahweh, His power flows through us.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 22:14-15

My strength drains away like water; all my bones are dislocated. My heart is like wax; it melts away inside me. The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery; my tongue sticks to my gums. You set me in the dust of death.” This is not a pleasant thing being talked about. This is a HORRIFIC experience. This is intense and prolonged suffering. Messiah was destined to be the SUFFERING servant. Obedient, right to the last. “Around three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” When some of the bystanders heard it they said, “Listen, he is calling for Elijah!” Then someone ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Leave him alone! Let’s see if Elijah will come to take him down!” But Jesus cried out with a loud voice and breathed his last” (Mark 15:34-37). Jesus suffered for us. Jesus was obedient to the will of the Father. Jesus was our sacrifice. Jesus IS the Messiah!
