“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving” (Psalm 69:30, MEV). One of the ways we magnify God is by being thankful. Being thankful also helps us to remember what He has done, what He is doing, and what He has promised to do. Thankfulness is one of the best ways to remember our relative position to God – to stay humbly submitted to Him. It’s one of the best ways to reverse the attempts of the enemy to seed depression and anxiety into your life. When you’re reminded of that terrible thing (memory of an act, event, or thought), you can turn around and praise God being thankful for how He changed it, got you through it, and/or comforted you. In fact, you can THANK the enemy for his reminder of how GREAT God is! No better way to tweak his nose than to use his attacks as a way to give glory, honour, and praise to God from a place of heartfelt thanksgiving. Sing a song of joyful praise to God whenever you see one of those flaming arrows heading your way. Why? Because look at all YOUR God does, did, and will do! Praise His Holy Name
