Fear No Fear

“These things have you done, and I kept silent; you thought that I was indeed like you; but I will reprove you and make a case before your eyes” (Psalm 50:21, MEV). The Greek gods were petty. The Roman were combative. The Egyptian were aloof. All of these are human characteristics. We can see people in these gods. They act like we act. They betray, scheme, are immoral, conceited, petty, and demand worship. They are human creations. All religions tend to have human aspects. The human idea of needing to work for something or to deserve it. The human idea of always being less than unless you can achieve more than. The human idea of god is not that impressive. But Yahweh is NOT LIKE US. He is DIFFERENT. He doesn’t give us what we deserve. He is merciful. He does ALL the things. He doesn’t DEMAND worship. He only gives us the opportunity to see that it is rightful and good to give it to Him. He saves us. He protects us. He blesses us. He encourages us to stick with Him. He is LOVING and KIND and MERCIFUL – even when we forced Him into judgement in the Old Covenant. He is objectively right and true. Humans and the devil have been copying Him since they first turned away. But He is not like us. He is INFINITELY better. We were made in His image, not Him in ours. And thankfully that is TRUE. He is the ONLY God who is TRULY God and WORTH our worship
