Healing Wings “Admit It”

The man went away and informed the Jewish leaders that Jesus was the one who had made him well.
John 5:15 (emphasis added)

Healing does not always come to the saved. Healing can come to ANYONE. What is the catch? The catch is that when you know what healed you, you admit it. Not much of a catch. We do it naturally in our health. We promote the medicines that work. We promote the doctors who help. We promote the diets and programs that bring results. We advertise without even thinking of it. Why would it be any different when it comes to SUPERNATURAL deliverance?

Part of the trouble is that as soon as the name ‘Jesus’ comes up we make it a religious thing. As soon as the name ‘Holy Spirit’ comes up we make it a religious fanatical thing. What did Jesus say to His disciples? “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears and will tell you what is to come” (John 16:13). Jesus called Holy Spirit the Spirit of truth. Which is exactly what He is. If you were to go into a mall talking about something the Holy Spirit said to you, you would be labelled a freak. But go to a mall talking about something you got from the Spirit of truth, and people will be curious and listen to you. As soon as you take religiosity out of things, people listen. Put religion into it, people tune out. We as a Body have done a great disservice by slapping punishments and condemnations to the name of Jesus. And don’t ‘BUT’ me. Read John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.” That’s Jesus talking there. Our message of condemnation has polluted our Good News message.

One of the things that healing can do is to shine positive light on the works of Jesus. Jesus came to make a way for the world to be saved (John 14:6). He came to take our sickness and disease (Matthew 8:16-17). He came to deliver us (1 John 5:20). Our salvation is not a visible thing. Our deliverance is not a visible thing. We can see the affects of them, but we cannot see them in and of themselves. Healing though, IS visible. So by seeing healing being true, we can take it as evidence that the OTHERS are also true. By trusting one, we can trust the other. If we remove healing by teaching that it is not even possible, then we remove the most visible proof that Adonai gave us to show the unbeliever (who has no trust) that He can be trusted.

This is why the devil works so hard to steal this from us. This is why he has stirred up the world and helped us establish social structures and processes that detract from the Word. He will do everything he can to keep us from realising and proclaiming that Yahweh heals. He wants to do all he can to snatch that truth away from EVERYONE. That truth is one of the simplest and most dramatic ways to show that Adonai means what He says. It gives us strength to deny our flesh when it kicks up and tries to get us to accept worry or anxiety or depression or anything else. We can point to our healing and tell our flesh ‘Look what He did! Everything He says is true! Don’t accept anything less!’ How can our flesh argue? We have proved His Word true and trustworthy. Accepting healing makes accepting the rest so much easier! It HELPS us focus on the unseen and not the seen (2 Corinthians 4:18), which seems at odds. Look at it this way. A boss who gives you a bonus that you have in your bank account is easier to believe for future bonuses than a boss who has never given one.

One way that the world can learn to trust is when we proclaim who it is who has healed us. When we admit Jesus did this. NOT on this day at this time because He felt like it. But on and through the cross over two thousand years ago. NO EFFORT is required. ONLY trust in Jesus’ completed, finished work (John 19:30). All that needs to occur is the APPROPRIATION of what Jesus ALREADY did. The act of taking what has been set aside for our possession is what healing is. We have to have faith (TRUST) that Jesus did it, that it is for us, that we are ALLOWED to take it, that we CAN take it, and then we need to TAKE IT. That’s it. Jesus did it. I took it from Him. I am healed. That isn’t hard to do.

The man from our verse didn’t even know who Jesus WAS. But he trusted Jesus’ words and followed His command and took his healing. When he was asked who told him he could walk, he didn’t know. As SOON as he did, though, he admitted it. When we are healed, we need to talk about it! We need to tell everyone about it! We need to tell them who did it! A testimony is a pronouncement that what worked for you will work for others. We do it over medicine, diets, products, and travel routes. We need to do it louder and longer for healing. Why keep this a secret? It is for EVERYONE. It is for ALL THE TIME. There are NO RESTRICTIONS beyond FAITH (trust). Period.

We are so quick to share our problems. We are so quick to let everyone know we’re feeling under the weather. We are so quick to celebrate the negatives. Why are we hesitant to celebrate the positive? To celebrate the supernatural goodness of the Father? To give Him the praise He deserves – not just in church but in the grocery stores, the malls, the streets, and anywhere we happen to be when we are asked how we are? Why have we put such a stigma on the name and the works of Jesus? We are doing an INCREDIBLE disservice to this world NOT promoting the healing Jesus accomplished on and through the cross. The stripes/bruises/wounds that He took provide PHYSICAL healing just as much as they provide SPIRITUAL healing (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17).

Be the light that we are called to be (Matthew 5:14-16). Part of His light includes healing. Shine it out there. Admit who healed you. Proclaim it so that others can come and benefit from the Grace of healing that Jesus accomplished. It sheds light on Jesus. It sheds light on the trustworthiness of the Word. It sheds light on the Father. Don’t keep it secret. When you KNOW it is Jesus, make sure that you tell others that it was Him. It is NOT a secret. It is MEANT to be spread. It is Good News (Isaiah 52:7).

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 34:20

He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken.” Messiah would not have ANY bones broken. Yet when crucified (lifted up, nailed to a tree, etc) bones were ROUTINELY broken. This is why it could be a mark of Messiah. It would be VERY unusual. “Then because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies should not stay on the crosses on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was an especially important one), the Jewish leaders asked Pilate to have the victims’ legs broken and the bodies taken down. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men who had been crucified with Jesus, first the one and then the other. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out immediately. And the person who saw it has testified (and his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth), so that you also may believe. For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.”” (John 19:31-36). Jesus WAS crucified. Jesus had NO broken bones. Jesus IS the Messiah!
