And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, “Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness, keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations.”
Exodus 34:6-7
This is not ‘might’ as in a metric of power. This is MIGHT. A force. A certainty of being that results in a foregone conclusion. It would be better to be considered as the POSITION in which He exists because of His MIGHT, a characteristic of His nature. It is so much a part of Him, that it is part of His name. It affirms the supremacy and uniqueness of Yahweh. His all-encompassing superiority, manifested in His might and power which are unique. “For Yahweh is the great God, and the great king over all gods” (Psalm 95:3).
One of the things that makes Yahweh unique is that He SHARES Himself with us. Ruach HaKodesh is in us to constantly and consistently speak to us about what is happening SPIRITUALLY. What good would blessings and money and harvests be, if we could not handle them? If He isn’t our Source, we automatically operate in selfishness, greed, and desperation. If we don’t kill lack by making Him our Source – content in all circumstances because He is who we rely on for strength and sustenance – then we will not be able to receive anything at all, because it would destroy us (3 John 2). We prosper spiritually in order to ‘rent’ a greater amount of blessing from Him in order to ‘return’ it by blessing those around us. Our levels that we hold onto will fluctuate throughout our lives, but our inner level of satisfaction never wavers. That’s only possible through a focused trust on Jesus (Matthew 6:33).
Yahweh is El. He is Great. Mighty. Good. Powerful. Strong. A leader. A strong tree. An oak. A pilaster. A chief. He is above all things. Yet He seeks to share with us Himself and all of what makes Him ‘Him’. “I am able to do all things by the one who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). This goes FAR beyond simple strength. THAT we can get by being praisey. By engaging His JOY, we become strong (Nehemiah 8:10). It’s a choice. Able to do ALL things is an empowerment to walk as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6), do what Jesus did (John 14:12), and accomplish that through Ruach HaKodesh who operates in, through, and around us (Romans 8:11; Acts 1:8; Romans 15:13; Galatians 5:22-23).
He is what makes us who we are. “Yah is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him—the God of my father—and I will exalt him” (Exodus 15:2). Without Him, we’re not anything at all (John 15:5). His Word is the power by which we function. “For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). Without Him, we have no power because HE is the power. Ruach HaKodesh is the conduit of the Father’s power (Source of all things), which also flows through US, when we are connected to Jesus, abiding in Him. It cannot be separated from Him, because it is who He is: Elohim Almighty.
We inhabit the position of the body of Messiah Jesus (1 Corinthians 12:27). We are the body and He is the head who operates the body. Our position is under Him (submitted to His will). Our position is also those who He works through. The head cannot function without the body. Jesus is the right hand of the Father (Exodus 15:6). WE are His hands on Earth (Galatians 2:20). “For we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we may walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10). If we don’t stay plugged into Ruach HaKodesh, who reminds us of who we are and what we are to be doing, we won’t walk in the works He prepared. We’ll take our eyes off of what He did. We’ll lose sight of what He’s called US to do for and in Him. We’ll lose the position we’re called to, and end up treading water where we aren’t supposed to. Ruach HaKodesh helps us to maintain our position in the centre of His will, moving neither right or left, as we submit humbly to His Word and His will.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Job 38:1-41:34
“Have you entered into the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?” (vs 22-23). This entire section is Adonai pulling back the curtain to show us a little peek of what Creation is really like. He lists wonder upon wonder, and then puts how He did it into language we can understand. This is a masterclass on what Adonai did in Genesis 1-2. Just look at all the beauty and majesty that He put into everything. See the power! Listen to the words. See the wonder! It’s all laid out so cleanly, yet there is such deep insight there. And it was all recorded thousands of years before science caught up to what it meant. Who knows what we’ll catch up to in the future? What wonder. What majesty. What a GOOD God!
Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:
I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
