“We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28, MEV). Purpose is an intended use or result. Something set up to be the object or the end to be reached. The reason for which something exists. We are called according to the reason for which we exist. And that isn’t something WE can see. It lies in HIM. HE is our creator. HE is the ONLY one who can say WHAT we are supposed to be, WHY we exist, and HOW we are supposed to walk that out (Ephesians 2:10). We are called by Him and to Him so that we can fulfil HIS purpose. Not ours. This isn’t about us. What we want. How we feel. We love Him, we respond to the call, and we submit to His will. We go under the yoke knowing that it is light, Jesus does the heavy lifting, and He will never, EVER steer us wrong – not even letting us stumble over the slightest stone while we fulfill His purpose (which is not the same as having a smooth, persecution-free life – Matthew 10:22). When we are willing to submit to His plan for us, nothing will be able to stop Him OR us – from His perspective – because He works everything to good. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” (Romans 8:35, MEV). When we get on His timeline, His agenda, and rest in Him (John 15:5), then ALL things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
