Daily Affirmation #105

In God whose word I praise, in God I have trusted; I will not fear. What can mere flesh do to me? . . . In God whose word I praise, in the Lord whose word I praise” (Psalm 56:4, 10, MEV). David was a man after God’s own heart. The vehicle he drove when chasing it was the Word. David LOVED the Word. And he didn’t have nearly as much of it as we do. Jesus IS the Word, so it is appropriate to give the Word (not a physical object, but the spiritual truth) place in our lives. If we don’t live the Word, how can we love Jesus who IS the Word? Feeling lonely? The Word is there – a physical manifestation of Jesus – to keep you company. We should seek time with it like we would seek time with Him, were He with us. The Father told Jesus, Jesus told Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit told humanity and everyone got every word, dot, and line right. It is believable because Jesus can be believed. It can be followed because we follow Jesus. It can be trusted because we trust Jesus. They are two sides of the same coin, welded together by Holy Spirit and made from the will of the Father. Bible time isn’t a chore. It’s a five to fifteen minute obligation. It’s not something that can be ‘bumped’. It is the intimate conversation one to another that keeps our relationship with our bridegroom flowing. What could be more important than listening and interacting with the One we will be wed to for until forever is a memory? Seek it. Cherish it. Enjoy it. Be serious about it. Bible time is NEVER wasted time.
