Fear No Fear

“A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling, there shall be no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your tent” (Psalm 91:7-10, MEV). You may or may not believe in all the things the bible says, but I tell you the absolute and utter truth that they WILL come to pass. The promises of the Lord NEVER EVER fail. The question isn’t whether or not they’ll come true, but how YOU will react? Are you making the Lord your fortress or are you relying on yourself? Is HE your Source for everything? Are you worshipping Him and looking to Him? Are you leading life – the moment to moment stuff – listening for His voice? Are you correcting your behaviour when you hear that adjustment in your heart? This isn’t a chore. It’s a freedom to rest. It’s having a personal coach reminding you of all He did for you. Reminding you of all you have available to you. It’s also a reminder of how carefully He watches out for you. How even when chaos seems to be happening, He planned for it. He prepared for it. It is NOT taking Him by surprise. We need to study out Jesus’ love for us. We need to take to heart the words of His final address to the Twelve (John 14-17), especially His prayer in John 17. We need to praise Jesus in our daily lives by word or song much more than we currently do – it’s a great benefit to us (like a smile changes the mood of a sad person, praise will change our hearts). We need to live our lives in Jesus. We need to make HIM our fortress against everything – a benefit to our friends and a bulwark against enemies. God is inviting us under His wings. We need to answer the invitation and make our home there. When we do, we have PEACE no matter WHAT is happening around us. We do NOT need to CHOOSE to be troubled. We CAN CHOOSE to experience, feel, and emote His PEACE. We’re allowed to. He said so.
