Ruach HaKodesh “Preserver”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, “Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness, keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations.”

Exodus 34:6-7

As we’ve seen, Mercy and Truth are integral aspects to Adonai’s character, and Ruach HaKodesh IS the character of Adonai, so HE has them as well. They have other names as well, depending on your translation. They are also called loyal love (mercy) and faithfulness (truth). He makes a habit of His mercy, because He is LOVE. Truth is faithful, because it is TRUE – it does not waver, it does not change, new discoveries and findings do not upset it because it is OBJECTIVELY true (not a truth based on facts and human understanding). And it is these two qualities that PRESERVE us.

We preserve things  to prevent them from decaying or being damaged or destroyed. To keep them safe and alive. To make them last. To keep them alive and existent. To spare and to maintain. That is all possible and ONLY possible through Jesus. It is available to ANYONE who confesses Him Lord of their lives and truly believes it in their heart of hearts. Lip service is NOT enough. It can fool other people, but not Adonai (Jeremiah 17:10). For the believer, however, look at what is available to you! Existing alive; safe from harm, damage, and destruction; maintained in His ways; spared what the world suffers through; and given length of life. That’s awesome. What a great comfort it is to us who believe. Hard to find anything MORE comforting in this life than that. This is the kind of life that Jesus said He came to bring (John 10:10). This is also the kind of life the devil and the world hate (also John 10:10).

Our comfort is the character of Adonai. We don’t need to be fooled into doubt by those who are jealous of what is available to us. We don’t need to follow religious thinking that says ‘one day’ and ‘when it comes’. We can engage the promises of Adonai RIGHT NOW because it is part of HIS CHARACTER and INDIVISIBLE from Him. If He is capable of healing, it is because He wants us healed. THAT is why Jesus was scraped, bruised, whipped, jabbed, slapped, torn, and took sin (and its full effects) into Himself. Adonai is waiting for you to UNWRAP your health, not waiting until the time is right to heal you. The balance of the equation is ALWAYS on US and OUR CHOICES. He made available, what will WE do with that availability. Think of it like public transportation. The city government made the buses, maintain and fuel the buses, hired and trained the drivers, planned the route, and send the buses along the route. But YOU have to decide to get on. If you don’t, you’ll never travel anywhere by it no matter how much you complain that it never takes you anywhere or that you wish someone would take you into the bus or that you’ve always known your bus travel would happen and when the Lord wills it, He’ll make sure your feet find their way up the steps and inside.

It is through His reminders to us of the everlasting and never-ending love of Adonai, the everpresent mercies made available through that love, and the truth of His objective point of view which can be faithfully relied on that WE are preserved. We are saved from anxiety. We are saved from depression. We are saved from the desire to sin. We are saved from the need to toil. We are saved from running out of things (patience, food, supplies, resources, or joy, for example). We are saved from lack (not having enough to start with vs losing what we have). We are saved from not knowing. We are saved from not understanding (application of wisdom AND knowledge). We are saved from decay – we WILL age, but why do we need to deteriorate? We are saved from death – we’ll transition, but not die. We are saved from disease or sickness – we don’t need to accept what isn’t addressed to us. We are saved from not having a reliable supply chain – Adonai is our Source for EVERYTHING. This is all that Ruach HaKodesh brings to our minds on a consistent basis. It is the meat of the truth that we ARE the righteousness of Messiah Jesus. Therefore, we have available to us all that He was and had while He was on Earth physically.

We are preserved when we choose to engage the life preserver – Jesus. We do that by being reminded we have it – by Ruach HaKodesh. We are preserved because we are sealed in our spirit (Ephesians 1:13). We can access and draw through our spirit what HE has made available TO our spirit in the heavenly realms (where it hangs out). If you don’t know what all that is, this is EXACTLY what that is: “Blessed the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). We’ve already got everything we need, we just need to receive or engage it – with intent – through Jesus. Ruach HaKodesh is never going to stop telling you that. He wants you to realise it, meditate on it, submit to it, and walk in it. It’s the most FREE place to walk. Life is abundant and life is glorious because it is filled with His glory. May ALL believers have it. All the time.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 2 Corinthians 3:18

And we all, with unveiled face, reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory into glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” Oh, when we get to heaven what a great day that will be! But even MORESO is the fact that we have a forward-moving God. Adonai does not stand still. He moves forward. And He doesn’t leave us standing behind. He brings us with Him. From the moment that we truly believe Jesus is our Saviour and confess Him to be our Lord; from the moment that we rise up out of the baptismal waters into the new life of His resurrection; we are NEW. One of the main characteristics of our newness is that instead of being victims of entropy, we are being renewed in our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11). We age, but we don’t have to DECAY. We can maintain our youth (Isaiah 40:31). These can be LITERAL things, if we believe them. If we put our trust in Jesus. If we put our trust in the Father about the promises in Jesus that we put our trust in. We get to become more and more like Him starting RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT – not having to WAIT until heaven. We get to start NOW. Eternity is NOW, my friend. There is no time or distance to it. We get to partake NOW and NOT wait. What a GOOD God!
