Healing Wings “Pages of Healing”

This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your inner self.
Proverbs 3:8 (emphasis added)

There is something to be said for the principle that healing is spiritual. Spiritual healing is needed for us to get anywhere of significance in the Kingdom (3 John 1:2). Spiritual healing is needed for us to be saved and enter Grace (Isaiah 53:3-6). Spiritual healing is needed for physical healing to flow (1 Peter 2:24). But the Word separates physical and spiritual healing in several places throughout its verses. Adonai sees them as two separate things. We really have no excuse not to do the same. The Word heals. From the first begat to the last amen. It heals BOTH physical AND spiritual.

I don’t advocate reading the Word for entertainment, but it is hard to take the position that it isn’t entertaining. It is the least boring book I have ever come across. I have often picked it up meaning to read a specific thing and gotten lost for a VERY long time. It is a Living Book. Something that gets inside you and turns on all the lights. Something that excites the thoughts we have and mixes them with the thoughts that Adonai has until we are both thinking the same thoughts (His). Once we are in agreement, there really are NO limits to anything (Matthew 19:26).

There is a peace to the Word. There is a calmness. There is a quality that brings order to our thoughts and our selves. Jesus was the manifestation of the Word in flesh (John 1:14). The bible is the manifestation of the Word on paper and pixels because it is the written form of the verbal Word that Holy Spirit inspired in people. It is a record of the Father’s will. It is a description of the nature of Adonai. It is the physical expression of spiritual things. That is why it is TRUTH. It doesn’t go out of style. It doesn’t become irrelevant. It is always applicable. It is always for now. And it is always the biggest record we have of the nature of Yahweh: love.

The Word is LOVE from Yahweh’s point of view. It doesn’t always SEEM like love to us. But we cannot see the end from the beginning. We can’t even see a fraction of our section of things. We only see a portion of a portion. And that muddily. That is why it is written in such a way that it strengthens our faith. It is a book of trust designed to facilitate trust. It is with trust that we have to approach it. Not blind obedience, but tested trust. The Word tells us to test everything (I Thessalonians 5:21). Adonai LOVES questions because they show a desire to know. Adonai loves giving wisdom (James 1:5-8). Knowledge is hidden so that it can be SOUGHT, not so that it is kept apart. The Word is full of questions and full of answers. It PROVES again and again that trust in Adonai is warranted and justified.

There is a lovely sense of security knowing that you have the answer. Of having that sealed envelope in your pocket. Sooner or later, we open it and have a peek. Then take out the contents and really look at them. It is all a wonderfully restful experience because we HAVE it. It isn’t missing. It doesn’t need to be looked for. It is THERE. It is OURS. And we can look at it whenever we want to. There is a refreshment to the spirit knowing that the solution is in hand. A relief. The Word gives that to us. More than that, it renews our minds. It refreshes our spirit. It strengthens our trust. This refreshment is a constant renewal of everything we have at all times constantly and consistently.

There is LITERALLY nothing like it. All you have to do to walk in it is seek Jesus on every page of the Word. Open yourself to Adonai like you would in a classroom. Open that book and request of Holy Spirit ‘Please show me Jesus today’ and then start reading. Refreshment will follow. “But whoever drinks some of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”” (John 4:14). From the top of your head to the bottom of your feet, your inner self – your spirit – will be refreshed, renewed, and invigorated. Every time.

Today’s verse also tells us that the Word provides healing. Like a shot that brings an antigen into contact with sickness in our body, the Word brings Righteousness into contact with sickness in our body. The Word literally provides healing to our bodies. I know not everyone believes that, but the Word clearly states it. I find it ironic that people will say that Yahweh can do anything He wants, but then say the Word healing us is impossible. It makes no sense. We either believe what the Word says or we don’t.

We know that the Word makes a TREMENDOUS difference to our spiritual state, our mood, our thinking, and our behaviour when we get it into our hearts. “In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11). “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). “As in water the face is reflected as a face, so a person’s heart reflects the person” (Proverbs 27:19). With verses like these – and others – why would we assume that it would stop there? WHY would it stop? Why wouldn’t it ALSO make a difference to our PHYSICAL state? Doesn’t it make more sense that the Word could and does invade EVERY aspect of our life and make a change when it gets there? “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

Today’s verse isn’t the only one that links the Word and healing. “A cheerful heart brings good healing, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). “My child, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for they will provide a long and full life and well-being for you” (Proverbs 3:1-2). “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:22). There are a few others that speak of words period helping with healing (such as Proverbs 16:24 and 12:28). If HUMAN words properly applied can bring healing, how much more can THE Word accomplish it?

Reading the Word in order to take it in, in order to be transformed by it, is not something that happens by accident. It isn’t something that happens casually. It is something that happens on purpose when we partner with the Holy Spirit in our reading. Holy Spirit is like our own personal commentary on the Word. He can explain it to us in the way we can understand it. He can explain it to us at every level of our journey. Meeting us where we are and helping us along to where the Father sees us going. It is the difference between holding an insulated cable full of electric current and being plugged into the electric current. Except it is exactly our gauge and cannot hurt us. Jesus provides us healing because He released healing for us. Holy Spirit is the vehicle by which we engage that healing (Romans 8:11). The Word also heals because Jesus is the Word and the Word is Jesus. They are inseparable. Holy Spirit is Jesus spirit, so they also are inseparable (Galatians 4:6).

The pages of the Word can be just that. Pages printed with letters. But they can be so much more. They have a spiritual component. Something we cannot SEE but that we can EXPERIENCE. If we seek Adonai with all that we are, we will be rewarded with all that He gives. Seeking involves investigating and one of the best tools we have for investigation is the Word. We can look at the words and at the meanings of the words. We can ask Holy Spirit what they mean and what they can mean to us. The more we take in ON PURPOSE and WITH INTENT, the more will get into our hearts where it will being health to our whole body. Just by being there.

The Word is alive, living, and a growth medium. If you are in it, you are progressing. If you are in it, you are growing. If you are in it, you are strengthening. You CANNOT digest it with intent without moving from faith to faith (Romans 1:17). The Word is about trust and the Word can be trusted. It teaches us to Trust. It develops and strengthens our Trust. Without Trust, we cannot please Adonai (Hebrews 11:6). When we are obedient and pleasing Adonai, we receive from Him all the Blessings He has for us – which includes healing. Spirit, soul, AND body.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 40:9

I have told the great assembly about your justice. Look, I spare no words. O Lord, you know this is true.” Messiah would have a mission to preach Righteousness in Israel. Messiah was coming to SAVE. Ignorance kills the lost (Hosea 4:6). Messiah was to come to teach. Messiah was to come and preach repentance. Messiah was to proclaim the words of His Father. “From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near!”” (Matthew 4:17). Jesus preached to the lost (Matthew 15:24). Jesus preached righteousness (Matthew 3:15). Jesus IS the Messiah!
