Daily Affirmation #112

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God who is our salvation. Selah” (Psalm 68:19, MEV). God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23). He loads us with benefits. The benefits are the blessings He has blessed us with (Ephesians 1:3-6). But the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) leans into the other way to translate this verse: “Blessed be Adonai! Every day he bears our burden, does God, our salvation.” Stop and think about that. He loads us with blessings by carrying our burdens. Any and all of them. He doesn’t put restrictions on it. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, MEV). If you exist and labour, you qualify. That is one of the shortest ways to describe the Gospel message that’s in the Word. The curse was toil and hard labour. Salvation takes that off of us. Frees us to work for His glory in ALL things – physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, financial, you name it. That’s a LOT of benefits and NO burdens. And it is available to ANYONE who wants to come to Him and receive it. What a GOOD God we serve!
