Healing Wings “Gift of Ministry”

to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
1 Corinthians 12:9 (emphasis added)

There is a difference between a miracle and a healing. A healing is when sickness or a demonic/evil spirit is removed and the body naturally heals over a period of time — Adonai being the Father of Eternity (Isaiah 9:6-7) can speed that time up. A miracle is a supernatural occurrence, is almost always instantaneous, and cannot happen naturally. All believers can engage healing with their trust in the Word, but some individual believers have been given the gift of healing.

Healings happen in accordance with natural law – except where Adonai speeds them up. Miracles are not bound by natural laws AT ALL. If you have a disease and the disease is removed so that the body begins to recover is a healing. Seeing a limb regenerate or having something that had been removed returned in an instant is a miraculous healing. Gifts of healing always include the miraculous. They are administered subject to Jesus as they come FROM Jesus THROUGH the Holy Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) is the right of EVERY believer. So is our legal right of inheritance to put down and have victory over lies, deceits, and false testimonies (Isaiah 54:16-17). The GIFTS of the Spirit are different. While someone could easily operate in more than one, it would be very rare for any believer to operate in all nine at once (1 Corinthians 12:4). It is also possible that in Jesus we can operate in any of these gifts at any given time. They’ll be given to us as the NEED arises. Jesus operates them all and we operate them in Him. HE runs the show through Holy Spirit. Always. It is never US getting HIM to do what WE want.

There are a few gifts but many, MANY believers. But the verses surrounding today’s verse make it clear that no matter WHO has the gift, it is Jesus who administrates it. It is Adonai who is working in the gifting. That means two (or more) people can have the same gift yet use it in completely different ways. THE Holy Spirit is the way in which Jesus uses the gifts through us. And Jesus does what the Father wills and shows Him. The Trinity is evident in these verses and also that we are to operate in submission to them. Period. In fact, if we won’t submit, then the gift won’t operate through us. How do people who don’t submit and are out for their own fame and fortune manage to do anything like these gifts? Demonic power. Stolen power. And they will pay the price for it.

Gifts of the Spirit are here for one and ONLY purpose: to bring glory to Adonai. If it doesn’t give glory to Adonai, it is NOT of Him.That is why Jesus administers the gifts through Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to demonstrate the reality of an unseen God to a world that is lost (John 3:19-21). Every believer who is baptised into the Spirit has access to whichever of these gifts they need at the time they need it. What’s the greatest gift? The one you need right now. That said, we do not all have divine proficiency in all of these. We are gifted what we are gifted, but if we are willing, He can use us at any time to administer anything that He wants. Much like with talent, we tend to excel in one or two gifts. It is clear from scripture that Elohim gives a special gifting to all of us. One that we move easier in than the others.

All believers can lay their hands on the sick and see them recover (John 14:12; James 5:13-18). We have the ability to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit and use the authority of Jesus’ name and command healing to manifest (Acts 3:1-10). In today’s verse it is dealing with the GIFT of healing which is a specific gift present in particular believers called to a ministry of healing the sick. It characterizes their ministry, even though there will be other aspects to their ministry as well.

Every believer can operate in these gifts because we all have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) and are guided by the twin pillars of the Word (Psalm 119:105) and the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26). If you have the gift you know it because the Spirit has spoken it to you. Also, it is something that operates through you frequently. Getting in line with Adonai on this is relatively effortless – in comparison with a random believer – almost as if you have special trust in this arena. You will have a real love for the gift and feel drawn to it. What the gift accomplishes will be a dominant factor in your life.

It is our love for our fellow human beings that motivates the gift of healing. It is our desire to see them free from the shackles of sickness that motivates the gift of healing. Freedom and healing go hand in hand. Trust and healing go hand in hand. Whether a healing or a miraculous healing, everything must be accomplished by Jesus through the Holy Spirit. We can’t do it ourselves. We can’t speed up a cold or flu. We can’t remove a disease as if it had never been there. We can’t re-grow limbs in front of our eyes or lengthen limbs or re-grow pieces, parts, or organs of the body. It takes Jesus to do that. It takes the Holy Spirit to do that. We KNOW it is the will of the Father. All we need to do is find out how and where. Those drawn to this gift by the Father tend to hear about the how and where more frequently than the rest of us.

Jesus had a ministry of healing, but it was secondary to His preaching/teaching ministry. His healing ministry was the sign or confirmation of His main ministry. It was operated by His LOVE for us. He had a great love for us. He wanted to see us FREE. That meant spiritually free as well as physically free as well as mentally free as well as emotionally free. He wanted TOTAL freedom for us. Since we are also to operate in His love (John 13:34), that is what WE should be wanting as well. Seeking a gift of healing is not a bad thing (1 Corinthians 12:31). Especially since it helps free one another from the bondage of the curse. In EVERY way.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 69:4

Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head. Those who want to destroy me, my enemies for no reason, outnumber me. They make me repay what I did not steal.” Messiah was to be a righteous person. As a righteous person, He would do no wrong. Those who hated Him, would hate Him without cause. He would do NOTHING to warrant their hatred. “Now this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without reason.’” (John 15:25). Jesus did nothing wrong. Jesus always operated in love. Jesus did not warrant their hate, yet they hated Him anyway. Jesus IS the Messiah!
