Fear No Fear

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled. For all these things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, epidemics, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:6-8, MEV). Anyone who says that the bible is out of date should really read it juxtaposed against the news. There has been the rumour of war for the last few days between Pakistan and India. They’re getting stronger and they’re getting more vocal and both countries have their own viewpoints, their own grudges, their own bloody history, modern fighting techniques, and nuclear weapons. I heard about it. Doesn’t bother me. Because I CHOOSE not to let it bother me, not because I’m an idiot. There are conflicts around the globe – both physical and political – that could launch is into a war unlike any the world has ever seen. It does NOT keep me up at night. It does NOT keep me glued to my phone. And it does NOT get me concerned or worried about commerce, the price of gas, or the availability of groceries. I am NOT concerned. It is ONLY because God is my Source. It is ONLY because I can eat of the fruit of patience, peace, and joy. It is ONLY because I can flick a switch and turn off anxiety and depression by engaging what I have through the Holy Spirit. It is ONLY because of Jesus. I do not need to LET myself be troubled because I can keep my eyes on HIS prize. What is it to me if there is war? He will have me. I will have MORE THAN ENOUGH to bless all those around me. If disaster strikes our home will be a disaster relief centre for our area because we will NOT run out of supplies. He will multiply what we have until we have fed, cared for, and helped every single person who comes to our door PLUS taken care of ourselves. He is MORE than enough. It will be an AWESOME opportunity to show everyone around me the glory of MY God. How about you? What are YOU going to be? I think the believers who follow Jesus have an opportunity better than at almost ANY period of history to cooperate with God and serve our neighbourhoods and communities and watch how He transforms their understanding of what REALITY really is. Worried? No. Eagerly anticipating HIS GLORY!!! Amen. I hope you’ll join me. Because He has MORE THAN ENOUGH to go around!
