“You shall be holy unto Me; for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from other peoples, that you should be Mine” (Leviticus 20:26, MEV). They just chose a new Pope. Not knocking the Pope. But my thinking got to holiness. We are CALLED to be holy in Jesus as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16), but we ourselves are NOT holy. We never were. That is NOT why God chose us. Sometimes I wonder why He did, but I’m not alone. “what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You attend to him?” (Psalm 8:4, MEV). We are essentially dirt. Pretty GOOD dirt, all things considered, but dirt all the same AND He hasn’t forgotten it (Psalm 103:14). We can be so much more than we are, if we will put on Messiah Jesus. “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:14, MEV). We can answer the call. We can walk in the anointing He has for us. We can engage and occupy all the positions that He calls us to (1 Peter 2:9). We can do NONE of it in ourselves. We can do ALL of it in Jesus (John 15:5). When we think of holiness, let us think of where we should be and all the tools He’s given us to walk that Way in Him. Amen.
