“I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship” (Romans 12:1, MEV). What was acceptable to God as a sacrifice? The animals had to have no blemish. That’s why only Jesus’ blood was able to pay for sin. He had no blemish. So when we think of offering ourselves as living sacrifices, we need to think about what God would want. Blemishless. Now, we all can sin and have sinned. I’m not thinking of that. We’re never going to be perfect until Jesus perfects us at the end of all things. I am asking what we are cooperating for? Not the REASON, but the BLESSING. I’ll explain it this way. Sickness is not health. It’s not acceptable to God. So we should cooperate with Him to accept the perpetual health He bought for us (Matthew 8:16-17). What other things did Jesus purchase for us? Joy? Peace? Kindness? Goodness? Anti-poverty? If we want to stand acceptable to God in the fullness of the acceptability that Jesus purchased for us, we should cooperate with Him and accept what He bought. Don’t we think it rude not to accept gifts that are given to us by people? How much more should we accept what Jesus got us? What He suffered to make available to us? If all we have to do is to cooperate and engage it, what’s stopping us? Cooperate with him today and start using what He bought. We engage it by believing what the Word says about it and trusting Jesus that He didn’t lie. That’s it. Simple, and something we can ALL work on. Whenever you see something in the Word that He purchased for you? Say ‘I cooperate with you, Jesus, and accept that.’ Don’t worry if it seems incredible. All things are possible when we cooperate with God (Matthew 19:26).
