Fear No Fear

“There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the counsel of the Lord will stand” (Proverbs 19:21, MEV). God has a plan. It is not a plan for YOUR life or MY life, but a plan for EVERYTHING. We can get so wrapped up in wanting to know if something is God’s will for our life that we can forget that. Our job is not to measure everything out and only move when we KNOW that it is God’s will. Our job is not to look at every decision and consider whether it is God’s will for us. If it is part of His plan for our life. No. Our job is to cooperate with God (Matthew 19:26). Because of free will, the plan of God is always changing in the sense that the players change. The over-arcing plan of God NEVER changes (Hebrews 13:8) and what He says WILL be brought to pass (Isaiah 46:8-11). It is OUR choice whether we will cooperate with Him and go where He wants, say what He wants, and live how He calls us to (Revelation 17:17). The plan is to make sure everyone meets Jesus and chooses to embrace Him or reject Him (Acts 1:8). We can be part of that plan in 3 ways. First, we share Jesus by word and by our example with everyone we come across. Second, we CAN be called into full-time ministry. Third, we CAN be called to support full-time ministry with other ways of living our lives, but always being a witness with everything we do. That’s it. Don’t ever forget that if you are saved, you have Holy Spirit inside you. He is ALWAYS talking to you. ALWAYS. Instead of being anxious about whether something is God’s will or asking for a sign, TALK TO HIM. He will tell you how to cooperate with God at every moment of your life. It may not matter WHICH job you take or WHO you marry. What will ALWAYS matter is your heart intent and whether each step you take is hand in hand with Him. God loves you too much to leave you in the dark. He is speaking constantly to you. Clean your ears with the Word (John 17:17; Romans 12:2) and LISTEN to the voice that is encouraging your partnership and cooperation. That’s how we know where to go and how to get there with TOTAL confidence EVERY time. Listening to our God, and cooperating with our Lord. It isn’t a guessing game. It’s a partnership.
