Healing Wings “Who He Wants to Be”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

He said, “If you will diligently obey the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, then all the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians I will not bring on you, for I, the Lord, am your healer.
Exodus 15:26 (emphasis added)

This is a promise with a reward. It is ALWAYS wise to pay attention to the promises of Adonai. It is ESPECIALLY wise to pay attention to the rewards attached to those promises. They are not carrots dangled on a stick. They are not bribery. They are ALWAYS simple TRUTH. They are a report of what WILL occur. No ands, ifs, or buts. This is what WILL happen when we do a certain thing. This verse clearly states the Will of the Father of Eternity. That we stay in the Blessing Zone and that we stay Healthy – spirit, soul, and body.

The Father of Eternity (Isaiah 9:6-7) exists completely and totally outside our conception of reality. He created eternity for us to get a glimpse as to how His nature operates: constant, forever, unchanging, consistent, TOTALLY righteous, and Other. This would be a cold kind of God if it weren’t for His NATURE. He IS love. Totally. A love we cannot understand on our own. Which is one of the reasons why the Ruach HaKodesh was given to us. So we could, in Jesus, understand the love of Adonai. “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that according to the wealth of his glory he will grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ will dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love, you will be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you will be filled up to all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19).

In today’s verse He clearly states what one way that the love that He is manifests for us: He is the One who Heals. He wants us HEALED. He wants us WHOLE. This is His WILL. Period. We know from scripture that this healing for all of our life travels from the inside to the outside (3 John 1:2). All the other healings (specific, individual healings like from cancer or a severed limb or a chronic disease) point to the overall WHOLENESS that He wills for us to walk in. We also know from scripture that although He wills for everyone to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), not everyone chooses to walk in His Way (Matthew 7:13-14). The Father’s Will is for us to be whole, but not everyone will walk in that wholeness.

A key way to get completely whole is to follow today’s verse. The Father clearly says that if we walk in His Way, we will be where He can Bless us in all ways. Sickness will not find us. Spiritual sickness. Mental sickness. Heart sickness. And physical sickness. They are all sicknesses that we can see demonstrated in the lives of the Egyptians in the Word. The ones who were following other gods. The ones who rose up against Yahweh and His people. Not all the Egyptians were like that (Exodus 12:37-39). But some were and became a clear example of what life was like in rebellion to Adonai. The Israelites could look at that example and choose a different course. In the same way, we can look at the examples in the Word and the behaviour of the World and choose a different course from those who walk in darkness.

Darkness is not always intentional evil actively trying to defeat goodness. There are times that darkness is simply the absence of light. When we turn from that light, we find all sorts of things in the darkness that we don’t ACTUALLY want. That is were sin is. Sin is choosing ANYTHING but His Light. The Kingdom of God is health, life, love, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness, patience, faithfulness, and ALL good things (James 1:17). Darkness contains everything else. Sickness, fear, disease, worry, anxiety, and all the rest (Mark 7:21-23; Romans 1:28-31).

We need to do what is right from His point of view, not ours. The Holy Spirit came to live in us (John 14:17). With the Ruach HaKodesh inside of us, we have His life inside of us (Romans 8:11). One of His jobs is to convict us of righteousness. That means He shows us where it is in comparison to where we are. He doesn’t guilt us, but since the righteousness is inside of us WE know when we do wrong and it is OUR spirit that shows us our guilt. Adonai only shows us the path to repentance. Piece by piece, instance by instance, we are shown where we are going wrong and how to get back onto His Way.

His Way is life. His Way is light. His Way is love. And His Way is also obedience to His point of view. We do that by paying attention to His Way. That is listening to His Word. That is listening to His Spirit. That is letting Him renew our minds to what He wants, what He believes, and what He commands. This is simple. But it is not always easy. We can only manage it when we use His power, not ours. His strength, not ours. When we are in Him and He is in us and we humbly submit. Not our might. Not our power (Zechariah 4:6). His Spirit gives us all the tools that we need (Galatians 5:22-23) and tells us how to use them. “If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit” (Galatians 5:24). “I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye” (Psalm 32:8). He even gives us the equipment to succeed (Ephesians 6:10-20).

WITH Adonai nothing is impossible for us (Matthew 19:26). With Adonai, we are able to accomplish what He says is right (Deuteronomy 30:11). Not because WE can do anything on our own (Psalm 103:14). We can do it in HIM because HE has ALL the power (1 Corinthians 4:20). It is that power in us that accomplishes His will (Ephesians 3:20). We get all we need from Him (Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:7). And in Him we have our strength to walk His Way (Philippians 4:13). If we let Him do what He wants by obeying His commandments, following His guidance, and acclimatizing ourselves to His point of view; we will succeed. Not in ourselves, but in Him. We will be able to stay where we are Blessed because we will be actively looking for it, actively listening, and actively placing Him first in our lives. Seek HIM first, and the rest of what He has for us will follow (Matthew 6:33).

If we let Him, He will be who He wants to be for us: the One who Heals. We will be WHOLE. We will be the way that we were designed to be, called to be, and destined to be. “You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image—in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth” (Ephesians 4:22-24). The HEALER will restore us. The HEALER will heal ALL of us. It is who He wants to be for us. Let Him. You’ll never regret it.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 89:35-37

Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David. His dynasty will last forever. His throne will endure before me, like the sun; it will remain stable, like the moon. His throne will endure like the skies.” (Selah)” Adonai Elohim promised that David’s seed, throne, and kingdom would endure forever. Though Solomon fell away and did not continue in obedience with Yahweh (1 Kings 11), through David’s son Nathan, the line continued unbroken. “the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David,” (Luke 3:31). It continued right down through Jesus, son of Mary and adopted son of Joseph (Matthew 1:16). Jesus was of the line of David and was born in the City of David (Matthew 2:1-2). “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end.”” (Luke 1:32-33). This was spoken to Mary and over Jesus by the Angel Gabriel, Messenger of the God Most High (Luke 1:26). Jesus IS the Messiah!
